A garden centre chain has launched an 'ice cream' made specifically for dogs. Billy + Margot's range of frozen goods was created by animal nutritionist Marie Sawle and will be available from Dobbies next month. The product, made from fruit and vegetable puree, flax oil and Aloe Vera, is available in various flavours, such as strawberry and apple, and apple, banana and carrot, and is dairy free. Sawle, from Hambledon, Hampshire, created the recipe in memory of her black Labrador Billy, who would spend his summers chasing ice cream vans down the road. Dobbies spokesman Duncan Kazakevics said: "This is a unique product which I hope our dog-loving customers and canine counterparts will go barking mad for." Billy + Margot's sorbets mark the first time an 'ice cream' for dogs has been produced. They are priced at £2.99 for a 160g tub. |
