[[Since i leave tonight and I'll be back on 16th September, I rather won't be able to play my characters. We could pause this RP till I'm back or one of you could play my characters (and Arvens) during my absence. Which option do you prefer?]] |

Gooseberry watched the rabbits carefully as they conversed. It seemed that something the larger had said or done disturbed one of the does. Maybe it had been the number of scars running along his side that gave him the dangerous and foreboding look. Whatever she told herself harshly. She hadn't spent the past months making herself immune to emotions around her for nothing. She dropped the carrot and decided resignedly that she could go without food for a couple of days, well, without proper food if only she could leave. She brushed the earth with her paw to cover her tracks and buried the half eaten flayrah. Feeling the need for a good run she turned to go back down the ditch when she heard a metallic click and shuffling of feet. Big feet, not possibly made by any wild animal that had any sense. Getting discovered in the farm was no joke. The doe approached the barn behind her and inhaled the smell of hay, barley and another smell, sharp and defined in her nose. Man. She saw him holding something long and shiny in his grasp. Her feet rooted to the ground and her heart hammered. Despite her self control recently, her heart pulled a different way and the other rabbits entered her mind. A sigh escaped her muzzle and she rolled her eyes at herself before turning and using all her speed to join the others as quickly as possible. "Run!" Edited by Embemxrabbit, Sep 6 2012, 11:58:46 AM.

[[Well... I can always use my Kindle to write something to move the plot. It isn't as comfortable as writing something on a keyboard (not to mention that the pages load a bit slower on Kindle than on my computer), but should be good enough for the time being. So perhaps I worried a bit too much. ]]

When the new doe had come running, Rowan didn't know what they were supposed to be escaping from, as the man hadn't come out of the barn yet. He wasn't going to stand there and ask this other rabbit. That wasn't something one should do when told to run for his life. "Take what you can and run for the hole," he said to his companions. He turned to see if dog had awaken. He had. He was looking at the group of rabbits, apparently a bit surprised by their presence, since he hadn't started chasing them immediately. The surprise was quickly turning into anger and the rabbits could hear him growling. "Go, go, go!" Rowan shouted, taking up his carrot and running for the hole. Once he reached it he stopped, waiting for others to go through the tunnel first. Some of them, namely Arvens and Dash, had followed him and now were quickly moving to the other side, one after another. --- "I met her just yesterday, so she isn't my friend or enemy," Runt answered. "I don't think I trust her though. She is hiding something. I don't know what it is, but I'm sure she wasn't entirely honest about what had happened to her before we met her." (Since I haven't seen Speedwell on, I hope no one minds if I go next) Half way through digging out a plump head of cabbage, Arrow's gashed ears perked straight up at Gooseberry's panicked voice. His nose twitched, turning his tawny head to look at the snarling dog, his smoldering hazel eyes widening to almost cover his whole face. Soon, this fearful expression turned into squinted eyes and a daring smirk. "..Oy, rabbit." Arrow whispered, nudging Rowan with his front paw. "Get your group out of here. I'll keep the mutt distracted." Without another word, the large rabbit bounded away from the group, crawling under the fence and heading towards the snarling dog. He still had no idea man was waiting inside the building, and with his extreme rush of adrenaline focused on the dog, he didn't catch a single whiff of him. "Hey, you drooling, muddy beast! Over here!" Arrow called, standing on his back legs merely a few meters away from the dog to get it's full attention. Of course he was risking his life, even attempting suicide maybe, but it was in Arrow's nature. All his life he had to be brave and fearless to keep his place in Efrafa, and he wasn't about to give that up just yet. "Don't you want a big, juicy taste of rabbit?" Turning around, Arrow wiggled his stubby tail at the canine before rushing off in the opposite direction of the group, praying to Frith that the dog was chasing him, and not making it's way to Rowan and his rabbits. |

Gooseberry dropped the carrot, and recovered easily from her run. She twisted her head just in time to see one of the bucks she had warned, the scarred one, make it's way over to the dog and start taunting it. A smile painted on her muzzle as she admired his daring, just hoping he was fast enough to escape. She wasn't sure if he was showing off, was generally concerned for the group enough so as to risk his own life, or just fancied pushing the adrenaline. Her own heart pounded when he span around to run, and she followed the dog's pursuit with tense eyes. The rabbits around her were also quiet. No matter if a rabbit was a friend or foe, they stuck together against The Thousand. |

Cayenne was floating in a fascinated state as she looked at the dog. Real and living and ugly and just awful in every way imaginable--she could not do anything but looked, her mind insisting that this was not happening. This was not real. She faintly heard Rowan's words, a panic in his voice, and felt Fireweed zip past her. Cayenne shifted her weight forward, now standing, but her sense of direction had been shattered. Where was the hole? Where had it run off to? The dog was getting itself all in a fit trying to catch this impudent rabbit that was so foolishly running around it as though expecting to play a game of tail tag with it. But the dog was losing interest in the tail too fast to tag. The beast was not looking at him. It was looking at her. Fireweed skidded to a stop beside Rowan, finding the familiar sight of a tharn doe in her tracks. "Hraka, she's going to get herself killed." Though Fireweed was brimming with every intention of carrying out her plan, she did not want it to go forward here. Not now. She had no wish to watch a vulnerable, stupid doe be torn to shreds. So she, too, stayed where she was, not sure if she wished to go grab Cayenne or dash through the hole beneath the fence. --- Sage snorted. "What could she have to hide? Isn't everyone here a castaway?" She sighed forlornly and pressed her forehead into Runt's shoulder, her vulnerability slipping out from beneath the cracked, hard surface she so boldly displayed moments ago. "But I agree. Something about her really gives me a bad feeling. As though she were a pfeffa or something, you know? Just... I feel like she can be nothing but trouble." She give a tsk and turned back away from the buck, swallowing down the sensitive doe within her once more at sitting up. "If anyone asks once they're all back," she said over her shoulder, settling down at the far end of the cavern, "This is my spot." |

Rowan had to admit one thing as he was watching the chase: this new rabbit had some serious guts. Taunting the dog had already given the rest of rabbits more time to leave the farm. Wait... Why is Cayenne standing there just like that? Suddenly Rowan understood. The doe had had to go tharn. "Under the fence! Now!" Rowan said to Fireweed, while he run to Cayenne. He had to get her moving before the dog realizes that it would be easier to catch a prey that isn't running. He got around petrified doe and pushed her in direction of the hole. He knew that once rabbit goes tharn it takes a strong impulse to get him or her out of that state, so he shouted at Cayenne: "Move! Start running or I'll tear your tail!" --- Runt was surprised by Sage's touch. Was she looking for some comfort? From him? This wasn't the kind of situation Runt knew how to deal with. He just didn't know how to react or what to say. And, before he could come up with anything, this moment was over. Sage's vulnerability dissapeared as suddenly as it had emerged, and Runt wondered if he hadn't imagined that feeling of her head pressed against his shoulder... "Alright. I'll tell them when they return," he said quietly, settling closer to the entrance to the burrow. He turned his face towards the light at the end of tunnel and listened to every little sound that was coming from outside. |

At the bellowing of Rowan's voice, Cayenne toppled over and rolled off her back, onto her feet, suddenly awake once more and hypersensitive to the frightening scene that lay around her, leading up to Rowan right up next to her. "Oh!" she came out with and scrambled to turn around, the hole in the fence not 15 feet away. She looked to Rowan, still panicking, before bolting forward, not sure whether to be frightened or endeared by Rowan's tactics to retrieve her. She scrambled to the fence, calling out "Come on!" To the other rabbits, just beginning to see the figure of something coming from around the barn. Making it out to be something most unpleasant, her soul within her turned cold. "R-Rowan!" Fireweed climbed under the fence in a scurry, stumbling into and landing practically on top of Dash. "Sorry," she breathed, eyes shut tight and face distorted in frustration with things going around her. She could have gotten Cayenne killed. Why hadn't she? Being there on top of Dash would have been a perfect time to pull out a flirtatious one liner, but she did not have the energy to do this. Instead, she pulled herself off of the buck and walked off to a ditch, where she sat to catch her breath. --- Sage could sense the slight change in the atmosphere around Runt-- a quiet, perplexed kind of attitude, which was so odd. This buck seemed to constantly insist on his knowing everything. What was getting him down now? After a few minutes of silence settling around them like the falling of snow, Sage sat back up and looked at him. "What made you leave your old home, Runt? Why give up any kind of life to like this?" She knew the question was a bit out of the blue, but if there was anything she felt about the buck, it was that there was something about his past that was weighing upon his soul. She didn't know if she could help or not, but she may as well offer a sympathetic ear. |

After a few minutes of running his paws off, Arrow finally noticed that the sound of giant growling dog was no longer behind him. He skidded to a stop, whipping back his head to see why the canine would possible stop chasing him. And then there it was - a doe, staring blindly at the dog like it was some sort of show as it came barreling towards her. Before he could yell run, Rowan, the buck he was talking to earlier, pushed her towards the direction of the hole. "Oh, thank Frith..." The tawny brown buck mumbled, heaving in and out as much oxygen as he could possible get. But now there was another problem. There was now a giant, hungry, snarling dog between him and the fence. There were two choices: make a mad dash towards the fence and hope the dog doesn't catch him, or find a long way around without being seen, most likely losing the group of rabbits in the process. Of course, deciding to take the dangerous route, Arrow shot forward without a second thought, his hazel eyes glaring straight at his target. That's right, target. What better way to get around something than through it? The buck closed his eyes as he went right under the unaware canine, skillfully dodging it's running legs like he's been practicing his whole life. He made a jump under the fence, feeling a pair of jaws clench down at the very tip of his tail. It was a blur, all of it, making it impossible for Arrow to tell what was going on until he was at the other side of the fence. He was safe and sound with the group of rabbits, escaping with everything but a small amount of fluff of his tail. Edited by KiddCampion, Oct 5 2012, 03:49:53 PM.
