There was so much that had to be explained. She hadn't recognized the rabbit that had dashed through here moments ago, and the healer? What power did he have over other animals? Gooseberry's head drooped when she realized that there was much she did not know.
"Am," she cleared her throat, "who's the leader here?"

Not a reason to throw somebody out? Sage obviously didn’t know the habitants of Greenweed Warren. Or Runt as the case might be. Of course there had been an issue of Runt predicting bad things to happen before the actually happen, but Runt was certain that had been only a last straw rather than a main reason for his exile. Maybe if he had been well liked, then they wouldn’t be so quick to accuse him of causing various accidents or being a bringer of bad luck?

“You mean Dash?” Runt responded to doe’s question. “Well… His crime was snuggling to too many females or to wrong ones. Probably both. He naively thought that the only thing that matters is consent of those involved in cuddling. Some other bucks didn’t agree. They were angry that he was wooing their does or does they thought of as theirs.”

---

Rowan wasn’t sure how to react to stranger’s sudden appearance and disappearance or to Frost’s ability to calm down the dog. Right now he wanted to return to their burrow and work out all things in a safe place. He was about to propose just that, when Gooseberry asked who is the leader. While Rowan had given a few orders during raid on the farm, it hardly made him someone in charge. To be honest, he would prefer to have someone else to be a Chief Rabbit. Most of his life he had been an Owsla officer, but he wasn’t sure if that was enough to be a leader of a warren.

“Most of us met each other only just yesterday, so we don’t have Chief Rabbit yet,” he said to Gooseberry, then turned to Cayenne. “I think we should leave this place and go back to our new home. What do you say, Cayenne?”

As Runt paused, Sage caught yet another far away shadow cross his face, leading her to believe that this rude, sarcastic rabbit was nothing more than a front she had not yet fought past to the soul that lay inside. Perhaps she would never see it... Finally, he opened his mouth and told her Dash's story, in response to which, she nodded.
"Yes, I can certainly believe that one. Someone had better tell that other doe to run while she can..." she sighed through her nose and settled back against the soil earth the surrounded her. "There's nothing I dislike more than a frivolous flirt..."

------------

Cayenne straightened at the question, thinking herself rather important to have Rowan ask her advice. "Most definitely," she responded, glancing around at her surrounding. "We've seen enough trouble for today-- let's be glad we gained many and lost none and leave before anything changes that." She glanced over her shoulder in the direction that the other rabbit had bolted off into and said to the few that she stood by, "And perhaps that other stranger will follow after. We're still small-- we need as many rabbits as we can find for our new home on..." She stopped short, suddenly realizing they were still an unnamed warren. "Huh."

Fireweed begrudgingly said nothing in response to Rowan's turning to Cayenne. She was once more the cold-hearted doe she had taught herself to become, looking off into the wooded area just beyond them. Before a word of encouragement to the group escaped her mouth, however, a sharp screech pierced the air, sending a wave of panic upon the group. The doe looked up, eyes wide, finding that the band of hlessi had been spotted by the beast that all rabbits dreaded ever going head to head with--a great hawk, already circling its victims.

[[HEY GUISE--- sorry to suddenly introduce a predator so quickly, but I'm going somewhere with this. Just because of the fact that Hawkbit has stopped controlling Arvens so he's kind of following after like a zombie--a possibility to put him aside for a little while. And if Hawkbit returns, then Arvens can come back and be like "Oh man I fought that hawk and it died and it was forrealz scary like omg" xP But only if everyone's alright with that direction. It was also give something for the rabbits to band together and as a whole be upset about. Idk, whoever posts next can do with the hawk as they please.]]

Gooseberry fought the urge to run at the sight of the hawk. Believe it or not, she had never had experience with a hawk, only heard stories of them. Feeling suddenly very alone she crept over to the Cayenne and sat near. This doe seemed the least intimidating as the whole group seemed to have a strained tension about them that made her fur tingle.
"I.....can hawks lift adult rabbits?" Gooseberry whispered, then was ready and poised to run whatever way they chose. Today was definitely like nothing she had ever known.

(Of course, do whatever you like but of course I speak for myself. I prefer to let you make the main directions,as you seem to have a plan :) )

((Finally got through the whole topic! I like to be well read. xP Anyways, I'm new to this, but let's hope that I can do this correctly. As far as I can see, there's already quite a bit going on right now, and I'm not sure if having Naru and her brother appear near the burrow is a good idea either... As I don't wish to spoil anything I guess I'll just have them be in the area and eventually they can come across the group... Maybe on their way back? Anyways, this might not make total sense without reading my horribly long bios xD))

"Hey... Hey! Bralvaonahl! Come on, you great slug! Don't fall behind!"
The doe's voice was sharp, but not so loud as to alert anyone nearby. Naruthyl and her brother had been Hlessi for a very long time now, since they were very young, and were quite used to living on their own. That didn't mean it was easy, they barely survived as it is. The midnight-brown doe sat up on her back legs, scenting the area. She had a air about her that almost seemed militaristic, strange for a doe. She didn't bother to appear sweet and feminine, she didn't think of herself that way.

The buck that followed her was quite the opposite. He was silver, with various scars, a ripped ear, and a missing eye. The great silence was mighty unnerving for many rabbits on this day, him included. Bralvao flinched a bit as his sister yelled at him... She only called him by his full name when she was angry, but in his mind her told himself she didn't really mean it... He hopped beside her, and crouched to the ground. "Naru... I smell rabbits... Naru!"

"What?! Do you?" She stopped to scent the air again, and narrowed her eyes. "Hraka! You're right... I'll admit, these things, you're quicker to notice... We're not alone in this forest..."

Bralvao scanned the area warily. "Wh-what... What do we do?!"

"What we always do... Keep watch while I find somewhere for us to silflay... Alright?" Her order was quick and brisk. She softened her voice if only for a moment. "It's no different this time, avoid them at all costs and fight if we have to."

Many hlessil might be happy to find a group of rabbits in their travels, but not these two. They've lived their life alone and are very much alienated from rabbit culture. Finding a patch of grass, she motions to her companion, and begins to silflay while her brother keeps watch. They'll switch places in a moment, but even so, Naru looks up every so often, mere habit. She mutters to herself... "Embleer rabbits..."

((As the one playing Arvens I accept your plan, Speedwell. Hopefully, with the way I wrote this scene Hawkbit will have no problem with bringing Arvens back, if he decides to play again. :)

And welcome to the RP, Pancake. Your characters could go directly to the burrow or wait for the main group to arrive in the area. Or maybe other players will think of yet another option. :) ))

---

„Run…” Runt said, raising to his feet and looking into the distance. Then he saw it. “Run, you fools! The great hawk is circling above you! Run!” he screamed, not paying any attention to his surroundings or Sage. His body was here, but his mind was completely in other place.

“Too late! The hawk already has its eyes on its prey! He is going to take the one with a feather! With a feather…” He made a terrible shriek, the kind of which was well known to any rabbit that had witnessed an attack on other member of their species. Runt fell and rolled on his back. He was kicking with his feet, like he was fighting with some invisible enemy and he was trying to push it off of him. His eyes were wide with fear…

---

Please, Lord Frith. Let it be not what I think it is, was Rowan’s first thought when he heard that screech. Unfortunately for them, it was.

“Scatter and hide! Scatter and hide!” Rowan ordered, but at that moment the great hawk dived. The elil had already chosen its victim. Time seemed to slow for Rowan, as he watched the hawk flying at Frost, claws forward. There was no way it was going to miss its prey…

Right before the hawk was about to catch the poor rabbit, Arvens jumped into Frost, pushing him out of the way. Then the predator struck. Short scream filled the air and then hawk rose to the sky. It flew away, carrying its next meal. Meal. Embleer Frith…

Rowan came closer to the place, where mere seconds ago Arvens had stood. Now there was only ground and grass. There were a few marks of scratching left on earth – Arvens had been fighting to get out of elil’s grip. There was something else there too. A single red-yellow feather.

Shock. That was the only thing Rowan was feeling at the moment and nothing else. He knew he should feel something more, but right now he just couldn’t believe what had happened. Just when everything had been going so splendidly…

He turned away from empty spot on the ground and spoke to Frost, “Are you alright?”

The comfortable mood that had been lingering in the air suddenly fell away, Sage realized as she opened her eyes once more and looked to see Runt, now calling to the heavens as though he were mad. "Runt?" she whispered, as though frightened for a moment, but when it became clear that he was not present, she grew concerned and stood up beside him, watching him fall onto his back and begin to kick. "Runt!" she said again, this time with a great deal of worry in her voice.

In an attempt to calm him, she placed her forepaws on his chest so as to prevent him from hurting himself, pressing her body against his in the most comforting manner possible. "Shush," she muttered into the neck in which her face was buried. "You're not where you believe yourself to be, Runt." Slowly, she nuzzled him with a motherly kind of sweetness. "You're okay."

------

As Cayenne watched the hawk swoop down towards the white rabbit she had just spoken to, she felt herself clam up, and was nearly lost in a tharn state at the sight of the groping talons. Frost, from beside her, did not move at all--perhaps he was even planning to reason with the embleer thing. A quiver overtook her frame as she tried to move herself forward--whether it be to run or to help--and perhaps would have been plucked up by the predator too had it not been for the hulk of a rabbit suddenly rushing past her, causing her to lose balance and tumble back down a slope, with Frost following close after. Dazed by the sudden fall, she stared at the berry bush that was suddenly spread above her. Relief and gratitude began to flood around her as she rolled off her back, looking for the mysterious rabbit that had most probably saved her life, tears of thankfulness gathering in her eyes...

...that is, until she saw the hawk flapping away with a great bulky rabbit in it's talons. Seeing it off in the distance with no distinctive features to identify it, the creature seemed to match the size of... her heart stopped beating for a moment as she sat up, disturbing the bush up above her. "Rowan?" she asked no one in particular, suddenly terribly afraid. "Rowan?! ROWAN?!" She scrambled out from under the bush, dazed and attempting to pursue the hawk, as though she could battle it and win back the buck that she had just so recently met--just so strongly begun to fall in...

With eyes trained on the sky, tears began to pour down her cheeks, the world swimming around her as nothing more the gurgles and flashes. With trembling paws beneath her, she sank to the ground and buried her face in her paws, a heart suddenly broken and a world suddenly shattered.

Looking up from the sobbing doe to the one that stood in such a weak state of fear nearby, Fireweed had some hint of humor in her eyes that she made apparent only to this annoyance of a doe, Gooseberry, that she knew she'd soon have to figure out some way to deal with. With everyone in such a state of frenzy at what had just happened, Fireweed simply pointed to the vanishing silhouette of the hawk and its prey. "Does that answer your question?" she replied towards Gooseberry.

[[Oh man, sorry, I don't mean to be turning this into a soap opera again. xD Lol, and HAI DERE PANCAKES! You seem extremely skilled in the art of RPing, from the looks of it. I look incredibly forward to meeting your characters. But yeah, introduce them wherever you think they'd best fit in. But we should all be back in the burrows decently soon, if you think your characters might be looking for cover from the hawk. ^_^ Plz reply soon errybody!
ALSO! Embem- I hope you don't take Fireweed's regards of Goosberry personally, she hates does and other forms of competition for power. I, as a poster, however, personally love you and your character and I think she and Cayenne have the potential of forming a strong friendship, if that would interest you. :3]]

[[[Oh man... looking back on this post all my characters, excluding Fireweed, really seem to do is just exclaim the names of bucks. Lol]]]

[[[[EDITED WHOOHOO- And please disregard that I start all of my OOC notes with "Oh man." xD]]]]

((Figured I'd post since two people posted before me if that's ok. Pulled myself into it if ever so slightly, my plan is to, at some point, have these two run into the main group of rabbits... Under normal circumstances they would never stay with another group of rabbits, but with elil around they might make an exception.

Also... I am in no way new to roleplaying but I wouldn't call myself an expert. xD Sorry if my post seems a little weird, I do a lot of meerkat roleplays, which often involve hawk attacks, so some of that habit might have seeped through without me noticing.))

Not too terribly far away from the terrified group of hlessi, Naru and the snowy rabbit beside her had noticed the hawk. Although cautious and suspicious, the dark brown rabbit retained her usual attitude.

"Well, that bird of prey seemed to have no problem revealing its location. We can hear its cries quite clearly. Big birdbrain..." Naru sneered, a bit cocky but more out of humor than anything else, if just to calm Bralvao a bit. "I'm not sure how close it is... But the scent of rabbit is strong... They may have seen the Black Rabbit this day... There's no way to tell either way. If its attack wasn't successful, we have a problem... It definitely isn't far away and we are still potential targets..." She became more serious, a stern look in her narrowed eyes.

Two things were on her mind. A bunch of tharn rabbits coming their way, or elil spotting them. As two hlessil, having been so from juveniles, the two siblings were quite used to running and fighting, but there were only two of them after all, and this put them in a difficult position. Aerial elil can strike suddenly, hard to avoid once you've been spotted, and even if they were part of a larger group, impossible to defend against.

As her brother crouched down beside her, the midnight doe sighed. "I'm not sure which is worse, really. I hate elil as much as the next rabbit, but I don't like other rabbits much better."

"What do we do then, Naru?!" Bralvaonahl asked in a panicked tone.

"Get ahold of yourself! Don't you go tharn just yet!" Naruthyl snapped. "Simple, really... We just need to find cover... A burrow or-"

"Where are we supposed to find one?!"

"Don't panic, don't panic!" Naru tensed, losing her patience. "Granted, we just arrived, but if we want to run another day, we need to-"

She was cut off as the silver rabbit abruptly dashed in the first direction he willed himself to go. Which, Naru realized with anger and fear, was near where the hawk and the rabbit scent both were located. Sighing, she dashed after him. "Oh hraka!" Naru herself was a better fighter than runner. Bralvao was a skilled runner, on the other hand, and she'd be lucky to even have a chance at catching him, but what choice did she have?

((I'm a bit confused by your post, Speedwell. Why is Cayenne launching herself against Frost, if Arvens did that already and by doing so he became hawk's target and ultimately its prey? And why is Cayenne thinking that Rowan was carried away?

By the way... Every time I see rabbit shouting "Don't panic! Don't panic!", I can't help but think of rabbits from Animals of farthing Wood. :p ))

Gooseberry froze and stared into the eyes of the abrupt and very upfront doe. She was still quivering and felt vulnerable. Then a little of anger formed in her mind. "I think the situation speaks for itself," she snapped, then humbled herself to take a few steps backwards. Gooseberry didn't want to fall out with anyone, especially since this doe seemed as if she was in charge, and this didn't sound good at all.
"What did I do?" I asked with hurt to Cayenne. The doe looked absolutely heart broken, changing her train of thought. "By the way, are you alright? Did you know that rabbit well?"

Tears then appeared in her eyes. "Oh dear, you did didn't you?" Gooseberry turned her back to Fireweed and did whatever she could to comfort Cayenne, though out of her depth.

(Speedwell - of course XD its just in your characters nature is all and it should be interesting to see how theses two clash :) id love to, Gooseberry's all on her on and you and your character seems lovely. Sorry my posts are so short everyone, I have no idea what to do right now and am content to let someone else lead.

[[@Myrkin: Oh, poopers, my bad, I misinterpreted what you meant. To me it seemed as though it was just "A rabbit" that saved Frost, and the Hawk was all "a'ight, I ain't even mad" and picked up Arvens, who was nearby. :x Do you want me to edit the post?]]

(( I was vague while describing that scene, so it's more my fault. Sorry for that. If it isn't much problem to you, then please edit your post. I'll do the same with mine, so it will be clear it was Arvens that saved Frost. I wanted Arvens to do last heroic act before he disappears from the plot. ))

Runt felt a great pain. The talons of hawk were driving into his body. His struggles to get free were only making him suffer more pain, but he didn’t give up. He couldn’t give up. He wanted to live! Even if he was going to die, he would make sure that this wretched feather bag would have to work hard for its meal. So Runt kicked and kicked, trying to hit the hawk, to cause it pain or injury.

As he was fighting for his life, he heard a soft voice carried by the wind. It sounded familiar. It brought a feeling of safety and comfort, like when he had been blind and furless. It sounded like…

“Marli?” Runt asked. He listened to that voice, which soothed his pain. He stopped his struggles. As he relaxed everything started to disappear. No, not disappear. It was being replaced. Instead of blue sky he was seeing the ceiling of dark burrow. Instead of sharp talons he was feeling soft fur. And instead of being carried by elil, he was pinned under…

“Sage?” he said, blinking in surprise. It didn’t took him long to figure out what had happened. After all, this wasn’t the first time a vision took him so strongly. He sighed. “This happens to me from time to time.” By ‘this’ he meant behaving like a mad rabbit and not snuggling with a doe, but he didn’t think he needed to clarify that one.

---

When Rowan heard Cayenne calling him, he felt relief at the fact that she was alright. He knew it was silly. He had clearly seen which rabbit had been taken and it hadn't been her, so of course she was okay. Nevertheless, he was glad to hear her voice even if it only confirmed what he had already known.

He came closer to Cayenne and on an instinct he pushed his nose into her shoulder in what was meant as comforting gesture. “I’m still here, Cayenne…,” he said quietly, “…but Arvens is not.” It was hard to say it, even if he had known Arvens for only a day.

((By the way... Here is a picture of Runt and Dash, which was made by fiszike: http://myrkin.deviantart.com/#/d5rgn9m ))
