The doe's face flushed suddenly, ashamed of her not being able to answer such a simple question. After a long pause that grew more tense by the moment, she turned to give him a piercing look, as much frustration to found in there as there was tormented pain. "You'd think I would know, wouldn't you? Here's what I can say: I woke up in that tree feeling as though a hrududu had come and sent me flying towards the black rabbit. I don't know why I was there. I don't even know my name." She chuckled, shaking her head in defeat. "It's pathetic, isn't it. I know that it must be somewhere there in my mind--my past, I mean. Everything about me... But it's locked, or perhaps so badly damaged that I may never see it again. So unless someone would like to slice off the top of my head and take a look inside, I may just have to start anew right here, right now." |

Runt listened to chestnut doe intently. His tail twitched up and down, up and down. It always did when he was thinking about something deeply. Was what nameles doe had said true? Had she really forgotten all about her past? It sounded improbable and ridiculous, so she was probably saying the truth. If she simply wanted to conceal her real name, then she only needed to make a new one and everybody would be none the wiser. Besides... Runt didn't sense any lie in her words. But how could she had lost her memory? She had been injured, so maybe that was the cause. What was the cause of injury though? The chestnut doe wasn't the only rabbit that had been wounded recently in this area. Runt had a feeling it was no coincidence... "So... How do you want to be called? I like 'what's-her-name', but that's a bit too long for a name" he said that last part more as a joke, not a mockery. Then again, most of the time his jokes weren't much better than his mockery. --- Dash followed Arvens closely, trying to stay as quiet and as alert as possible. Like Arvens, he didn't like all this silence in the forest. Yes, it would make easy to notice if anyone was sneaking up on them, but it also emphasized the fact that something might be stalking them. This thought made Dash nervous. Then he smelled something. He wiggled his nose, trying to recognize this scent. It was faint, but he could swear he was smelling... "Cabbage. Is that a cabbage?" he asked others to make sure he wasn't imagining it. |

Arvens looked to the smaller rabbit, who had just mentioned that he smelled flayrah. He hadn't noticed the scent. He checked again; no cabbage. "Either your sense of smell is far greater than mine or you're imagining it," he put it bluntly. "But, lead the way if you smell cabbage--we're famished and need what good food we can find." |

Dash nodded and took point, hopping in direction of the smell. At least he thought he was going in the right direction. He couldn't catch the scent of flayrah now and he started thinking, that maybe he had imagined it after all. Then, a wind blew at him, bringing a smell of cabbage, but it was stronger now. Dash smiled happily. They were in for a treat... After a few moments, they came out of the woods. From there they could see a farm with enough flayrah to feed a big warren. There was a one problem though. Between them and the food there was a wire fence. |

Arvens looked through the wire at the farm. It was generally large, and smelled much like a farm. He didn't detect the scent of cats or dogs, but they generally were on farms, so why would this one be any different? They were probably around somewhere. Raids were never easy. Arvens looked back at the buck. "You ever raid a farm before?" |

After a moment of silence between Runt and the doe, the still nameless one did something completely unexpected: shake her head and gave a tiny, musical laugh, it being far more sweet and vulnerable than anything her attitude had previously shown her to be. She looked at Runt with a tiny smile, still not relaxed, but not quite as frightened as earlier. "I haven't any idea as to what my name should be. You'd think someone would know something- that I would have said something before wandering into this burrow with you lot." She shrugged. "Call me whatever you like, I guess." Slowly, on her bruised paws, she went back into the now less-cramped burrow she'd woken in and settled back down, licking herself casually. "And so what do you want me to call you? Just Runt, or perhaps... O Pretentious One?" she smirked, settling her chin down onto her soft brown paws and gazing at the buck in thought. --- Cayenne scanned the fence carefully, having never been quite so close to a man-thing like this. "I've... never seen anything like this," she said timidly, glancing at the thoughtful looking Dash. "Is there a way past it?" Fireweed, from where she stood back beside Arven's, gave a smile scoff at Cayenne's in experience and foolish question. However, after a moment, the red doe politely played it off as a tiny cough, turning her attention back to the farm. "If we're going to raid, we'd best not send us all in, in case we find ourselves in a bit of trouble." She looked to Arvens and Rowan, a bit of flirtation pooling up in her eyes once more as she said, "Though, I'm quite sure you already know how such things work out. Still, on the safe side, we'd best not send our most valuable rabbits in- it's not quite worth the risk." She smiled sweetly once more, looking away from Rowan and Arvens as though embarrassed. "I just don't know what we'd do without you two..." |

Arvens scowled at the doe, if a rabbit could show such emotion. "The rabbits who are the most valuable in this case, are also the most experienced. Sending in some foolish buck wet behind the ears into a farm with dogs and who knows what else with no support, well that's just plain irresponsible," he said, straightforwardly. "Experienced rabbits have to go in, and unless any of you have had experience in raids, then that means I go in with two of you to cover me. One of you will stay here to lead us back." Arvens looked at all three rabbits. "The question becomes who comes with me." |

So she can be cheerful after all, Runt thought with a grin. They began on the wrong foot (that wasn't surprising in Runt's case), but now they were mildly friendly towards each other. "O Pretentious One? That has a nice ring to it, don't you think?" he smiled, then ate some more grass. It wasn't a great food, but it was good enough. Besides... There wasn't much choice in this place. Hopefully, the rest will find some flayrah and they'll bring some of it to their 'warren'. Runt looked at nameless doe. "I have an idea. I'll say some names and you'll tell me which suits you best, alright?" --- Dash looked up. The fence was too high to jump over it. He gazed to the left and right. It didn't seem there was any passage they could use. He shook his head. "I don't think there is any way past it, Cayenne. Maybe there is an opening somewhere else, but we would have to walk along this fence to find it and Frith knows how long that could take." As he listened to Fireweed's words, he couldn't help but chuckle quietly. He could recognize flirting, when he saw it. It apparently didn't work well on Arvens though, while Rowan... Dark-brown rabbit was quite embarrassed by being called "most valuable'. It was clear, he wasn't used to being a target of flattery. “I was once to the farm, back in my old warren. I was looking for some carrot. I found cat instead. I barely escaped,” Dash said to Arvens “I have a feeling this isn’t the kind of experience you’re looking for.” “It’s better than nothing,” Rowan said, watching the fence intently. He was thinking how to get past this obstacle. “We can try to dig under the fence. It shouldn’t be too hard, but if we decide to go with this plan, then we should dig somewhere else. That way human won’t know what direction we came from. Man may not notice a couple of cabbages missing, but I’m not willing to take chances.” |

The doe shrugged, looking off into the distance for a few moments of silence. "Well, all right. But just to clarify now, names such as 'Thlayhraka' or 'Embleer-roo' will not be accepted, so you best toss those ones out now." In rabbit culture, there existed no such thing as friendly wink, but if a rabbit translation of such did exist, the doe did this now. "I'm curious as to what you'll have to offer." --- The silent rejection by Arvens brought a pout to Fireweed as she silently cursed his stony attitude. No trouble, she thought, recomposing herself with a focused look. Arvens is strong, but nowhere near in a position to take chiefdom. Rowan, however, she snuck a glace to the obviously embarrassed rabbit, letting a small smile trickle out from inside of her. He's in quite a position to take power- and where's the fun in power if one does not share it with, oh I don't know... a mate? Fireweed had to turn and stare off into the still-rising sun in order to hide her exuberance now that her plan was on track for success. First, however, she ought do away with the competition... "Why don't Cayenne and I go in search of a spot that dips low and see if we can set to digging there? Does are made with quite useful skills in digging, I'm sure you know." She threw another flirtatious glance out, this time to all three of the bucks. "...skills in digging... and other things..." This side remark from Fireweed made Cayenne blush, and turn her face from the group so they would not see her embarrassment. "I... I don't mind going," she said into the ground with burning cheeks. Looking back to the slender, fiery doe, she thought, It will at least give Fireweed a break from being all over Rowan at the moment. With this, the embarrassment turned to frustration. She began forward eagerly, looking away from Rowan as she passed him, though she was sure he was watching her. "We may consider adding one more to the party," she added after a moment, losing her indignancy quick enough as she remembers the dangers that surrounded them. "Just for the sake of security." She looked back, first avoiding Arvens' military glare, then forcing herself not to look at Rowan's soft brown eyes, and ending up making eye contact with Dash. |

"I had a feeling you wouldn't like those names." Runt thought for a moment, remembering the names of does he had known back in his old warren. It was easier to use already existing name than think of a new one. "What would you say of Clover? Or Heather? Marli? Nelthilta? Celandine?" he looked at doe expectantly, waiting for her reaction to these names. If she wouldn't like any of them, then he could list more. --- "Let us all go," Rowan said before anybody else could utter so much as a word. "There is no reason to split our group now. Besides... We should use this occasion to learn a thing or two from you about digging. Something's tellling me it will be usefull knowledge in coming days." Rowan knew they will have to enlarge their new home, if they were going to stay. The burrow they had slept in last night wasn't very comfortable and they needed more space. And if they were going to start a new warren, then everybody will have to learn how to build it sooner or later. |

The doe looked away in a show of disinterest, none of the names that Runt had to offer quite catching her sense of intrigue. "I am quite certain that, if at any point in my life I had a name, it would not be any of those." She sat up and looked around wistfully, as if her identity were hiding in the bushes. "Have you any other guesses?" she asked after a long silence. --- Cayenne shook out herself casually, as though trying to prove to nobody that she was unfazed by Rowan's offering to accompany them-- Well... Rowan and everyone else. But nevertheless. She could not help but smile softly at the notion that her suggested idea had been accepted. That would have never happened at her old warren. Already, things were beginning to look up. Fireweed stonily tensed at the mention of the instruction of digging. In truth, she had never dug a hole in her life- having been born into the aristocratic family which she was. Her claws were those of a killer, not a worker- but she could not let the other bucks on to this, for fear that either Dash or Rowan would raise question as to how she was unable to defend herself from yesterday's alleged attacker. No, she would have to dig as though she'd been doing it since she was born. "Very well then," she replied sweetly to Rowan, making Cayenne tense up all over again and turn to look at Dash with her facial expression pouring with frustration and sadness, knowing she was no comparison her rival in this unspoken competition. Fireweed cleared her throat. "Let us set forth then. It's well past sunrise as it is, and we ought to be home expanding the warren by sundown." Another glance sent Rowan's way, held until Rowan returned the look. Fireweed giggled, and added on as though just realizing the implication: "Expanding it in room, I mean. Not population- not yet, at least." She turned and began forward with a satisfied grin, not waiting to see the reaction. --- OOC: Good chief Hawkbit Sir man sir, be not afraid of boldness. Perhaps Arvens could, at some point, remember something that Sage said while he was around back in post #67- at least to throw him into the conflict and such. OR, if you wish it, you could create a second character, and perhaps toss him/her into the mix with Sage and Runt and their budding... friendship or romance or... angry heavy metal band... or whatever direction we decide to steer them in. Sorry for the wait! To be brutally honest, it's spring break, and I've been and being a teenager and stuff, so. Yep. Gonna post now.

"Hmm... What about those names then?" Runt asked and then started saying another list of names. "Walnut, Frith-roo, Sage, Buttercup, Rose?" --- Dash felt somewhat uncomfortable at the idea, that bucks were going to help in digging the warren as well. Like most rabbits in Greenweed Warren, Dash had been taught that females and males were better at doing different things, so nobody should try to do opposite gender's job. Bucks had been supposed to raid farms and protect the warren, while does had been expected to care for the kittens and dig new burrows. Of course some bucks would help a bit with digging from time to time, but it hadn't been something they would brag about for fear of being mocked about it. Dash knew he wasn't going to like digging much, but could see it had to be done. He would prefer to sleep in something better than tight, overcrowded burrow, and the only way to achieve that as quickly as possible was by everybody joining in the effort to build a new home. Of course, if you hadn't courted every doe, whom you found attractive, you wouldn't be here in the first place and wouldn't have to make a new warren, he thought to himself accusingly. When he saw the Cayenne's look of frustration and sadness, he sighed in his mind. It was becoming more clear, that if she craved the attention of a buck, he wasn't that rabbit. What a shame. We could spend some pleasant time together he thought more resigned, than sad. Even though he had had some successes in the field of love in the past, this wouldn't be the first time a doe he was interested in would prefer someone else. Nevertheless, upon seeing Cayenne's reaction to Fireweed's flirting with (or flirting at, as the case might be) Rowan, Dash gently nudged Cayenne in order to comfort her. He wasn't sure, if it will make her feel better, but he could at least try. "So... Are we going to dig ourselves the way to flayrah or not?" he asked with reassuring smile.
