"...Sage..." The doe suddenly snapped to attention. Who had said that? It certainly wasn't in Runt's voice- but his mouth had been moving... So why did it hit her mind with such impact? She couldn't breathe a moment as she shut her eyes, everything going fuzzy- and there it was before her. A doe and a buck all crumpled on the ground, the life spilling out of gashes in their throats, a menacing monster towering above them with the fresh blood on his claws. Though she knew not who these two were, she could not help but feel heartbreak as she felt herself nuzzling up against the doe. The eyes of the weak and dying marli looked down upon her at the moment, her voice coming out in a garbled crackle, saying with the most tender love it could... "...Sage." The image melted away, and here she was, back in the mouth of the embleer hole of this embleer tree, founding herself to have lost her balance and was now leaning against the side of it in a distraught heap. "Sage..." she swallowed the sadness and confusion as Runt looked upon her with obvious concern, or, in the least, intrigue towards the sudden reaction. Unable to explain that which she just experienced, the not-so-nameless doe nodded towards the buck, whispering to both him and herself, "I must be going insane." ------ Upon hearing this from Dash, Cayenne brightened slightly, knowing that, if there was one thing she were good at, it was digging. "We can dig anyplace, really- the amount of challenge won't differ much wherever we set to it. If we begin here, we could be in in only a matter of time, depending how much of a group effort and team work we put together." She paused, slightly embarrassed as all of the attention was suddenly directed to her. "Yes, well," she continued, trying not to show the blush that was creeping into her cheeks. "Really, the main thing to focus on when digging is to keep up the pace, so that the dirt you tossed away does not have time to be replaced by more dirt... That would only make the digging futile..." She broke off again, looking back at her audience in fear that she was not doing a good enough job of explaining. She took a deep breath and tried to look as collected as she could through her fear, meekly asking "Anything you need to know specifically, or should we just... jump in?" The question seemed to be aimed more toward the ground than anyone in particular. Fireweed's face contorted in a sort of disapproval, disliking all of the attention on this other doe. She said nothing, for she knew that she definitely didn't want the attention on her toward to moment, but simply looked away, as though annoyed with the doe's timidness. |

Runt came closer to the doe, indeed intigued by her strange behaviour. Nobody ever had reacted to the name Sage in this manner, even though a rabbit who wore it was quite respected in Runt's old warren. Nevertheless, if the chestnut doe had such a strong reaction to that name, then they were hopefully making some little progress in getting her memory back. "Insane? As in: the voices in your head are telling you to kill everybody?" he asked pretending to be serious "I hope not, but if that's the case, then could you do me a favour?" he paused for a moment "Start with Dash, please." --- Rowan smiled approvingly to Cayenne. She sounded like she knew what she was doing when it came to digging. In his old warren nobody had to do any serious digging as much as he could remember and he was no exception. Rowan was glad he wouldn't have to learn how to dig by trial and error, since Cayenne and Fireweed could teach him and other bucks. This will save them some precious time. "Alright then. Lets start there," he said, pointing to the side of their current position, to the place where the fence was touched by a shrub. The bush would give them some cover, if there was a need to hide, and maybe conceal a hole they would dig under the fence. [[I want to keep this RP going too. It's very entertaining. :)]] Edited by Myrkin, May 8 2012, 06:02:27 PM.

[["The rabbit who wore it" ... Is that supposed to be the same Sage, as though Sage may have visited Runt's warren in the past, or it is just a coincidence? ;D]] Sage looked to Runt at this , as good natured as he was about this entire situation- completely different from the way he had acted when she'd first woken him up. Odd, indeed. There was a moment of silence as this notion passed over the young doe... before she smiled in a shaky sort of way and gave another genuine, melodious laugh. "Well I suppose that's one mystery solved..." She shook her head. "I don't know what happened, but there was something the very strongly overtook me just now... Where did you get that name from, Runt? Of all the names in the world, and that one struck me like a hrududu?" She approached him and gave him a hard look of curiosity- if Runt had so easily picked out that piece of her life, perhaps he could help her to pull out more? --- Cayenne nodded and went forward to the spot, digging much more willingly than she assumed the bucks would be. She held her breath, overjoyed by Rowan's approval. As she calmed herself by working, she could not help but to smile at how silly she was being. Just yesterday she had met this fellow hlessi, and now she could not help but fully admire him--she wondered, had he seen love in the past? Was he even interested in finding a mate? Obviously not now, as the objective was simply surviving, but would he be open to the possibility? And what of... Fireweed? Cayenne peeked behind a moment, hoping that Rowan didn't know what she was thinking--her mind was much to far ahead of where the group presently stood. Fireweed daintily cleared her throat and gave a smile, trying to hide her reluctance towards stooping so low as to parttake in grunt work such as digging. She was embleer royalty for Frith's sake-- at least, she'd been raised as such. Maintaining her disguise now had a hefty cost. "Well, it sure won't dig itself. Let's get to it..." Heading towards Cayenne, she slipped between Dash and Rowan, allowing herself to nudge them both in a suggestive manner- just in case she'd need something to build off of in the future. Bucks certainly head their weaknesses, and she knew how to play them like bob-stones. [[YA KNOW WHAT... yeah. I did just totally feminize both Cayenne and Fireweed in conflicting matters, and acknowledge Cayenne's previously implied romantic frustration-- to which, I will give the excuse that today I have rehearsed a Shakespearean romantic comedy for FIVE G DANG HOURS today... and hearing constant soliloquies concerning unrequited love does something to one's dramatic view of women. So feel free to retaliate with something actiony, Myrkin or Hawkbit. I've given enough sentimentality to this RP as it is ;P I apologize for making anybody uncomfortable.]] |

"Well... This is the name of one of the rabbits back in my and Dash old warren," Runt answered "She is a good storyteller, considering how many like to listen to her." What a coincidence, Runt thought incredulously. Sage wasn't as popular a name as for example Campion or Clover. To be honest, he knew only one rabbit with that name and now it seemed it was also the name of chestnut doe. Or was it? Maybe she wasn't really called Sage, but it was an important part of her forgotten life? He looked at her intently. "So... Are you sure that Sage is the right name?" he asked her, just to make sure. --- At that nudge, Rowan started to feel a bit strange. In an instant he remembered how very long it was since he had enjoyed a company of a doe. Now he wished that they had had already built a new warren, filled it with flayrah, so they could then focus on... He shook his head, trying to clear it from these thoughts. What was he doing? This was not the time for daydreaming. He had a job to do. "Alright. Dash, Arvens, you will watch for any dangers. If any of diggers feels like taking a break, then you two will replace him or her in digging," Rowan said to other bucks, hoping nobody had noticed his moment of... not thinking about here and now. He approached Cayenne and Fireweed and watched them digging for moment. Then, he started to imitate them, hoping he would be more of a help than hindrance. [[No worries. I don't feel uncomfortable. Not yet at least. :P As for something more actiony, we might get that once our characters reach the other side of the fence.]] |

Sage quieted, all seriousness back in her eyes as she nodded to the buck. "I'm absolutely positive- It's Sage. I'm sure." She gave him that piercing look for a few more moments, enough to make the silliest of does sit up straight and mutter "yes ma'am," before turning away, her thoughts turning round in her head. Looking around for a few moments, she pulled herself back up into the tree, meaning to get a look out and see if she could catch any glimpses of where the were, but the ground did not have enough of a raise to be of any use against the scraggly bushes that surrounded them. She strained to see, backing up into the far, damp edge of the hollowed tree to see if anything would appear- and caught her foot on something. Looking back, she found her back leg to have pushed through a pile of sticks camouflaging a rather deep hole- like a hidden entrance of some sort. Looking back at the buck, whom she could now not see what he was doing, Sage gave a timid call out. "R-Runt...? I think I found... something..." --- Fireweed saw this look shimmer through Rowan's eyes for a moment, and smiled to herself, feeling the excitement well up inside of her. Sure- the work would be hard, but once an empire of her own had been built and Rowan were made chief-- two tasks which she had no doubt in her mind about-- she knew full well it was all a matter of little tricks and persuasions for her to be the true puppet master behind the warren. She cleared her throat to keep from chuckling, and had to shake her head, picking up the digging speed. Right now, all that mattered was getting under this fence, and dulled claws were one of the many sacrifices she would have to make along the way. Feeling Rowan approach, Cayenne drew away as to give him room, intimidated by his touch. Embarrassed, thinking he had noticed her shyness, she threw all of the pumping energy into her digging, and within minutes had gotten her paws deep enough to find the bottom of the fence. For a moment, she meant to say something so that they would all know where to be looking, but her mouth dried as it came open, and she lost her nerve. Quietly, she simply set to enlarging her hole so that it may join with Rowan's. "You're doing great," she muttered to him, thinking it terribly awkward that she be so close to him and not say a word. Why can't I talk to him like I could when I first met him...? she thought to herself miserably. I've NEVER had an issue like this before. [[Looking quite forward to it, my friend sir... What was that all about? Runt thought when all of sudden Sage got completly serious and gave him that look. He thought that the question he had asked was perfectly normal and shouldn't cause such a stern reaction. When Sage turned around and went up into tthe tree, he wanted to say something, but he was so irritated with doe's behaviour that he decided to keep silence. He returned to nibbling on the grass. For a moment, he had enough of talking... When Sage called to him, saying that she had found something, he didn't respond right away. He slowly finished eating the mouthful of grass and swallowed it. "Well done," he said dryly, not showing any interest in what Sage had found. He didn't care what it was, unless it was something that could threaten them. --- "Yes, it seems I must have had a hidden talent for digging," Rowan said jocularly, then looked at her hole, "It's not as great as yours though. You're half-way through already!" He did notice that Cayenne had gotten quieter, since they started digging. He didn't know why and he surely didn't imagine he could be the cause for that. In the end, he assumed that it Cayenne was simply very focused on her work. Dash watched the digging team for a moment, before he turned to Arvens. "So, Arvens, right? Could I ask you where do you come from?" Dash was naturally curious about this newly met rabbit, especially since they were going to live together in the same warren (or in what will become one hopefully). Not to mention that he was interested why in Frith's name Arvens was wearing that funny feather in his right ear? [[Myrkin is quite fine. If you want to use real name then (looks for English equivalent of his name) Jacob would be the right one, I think. ]] |

Sage was at first curious about Runt's lack of response, and wondered if he may have wandered off. As she turned around to further inspect the hole, the dry remark reached her ears, she clammed up, being just as indignant towards this treatment as Runt was. "Has a cockroach suddenly crawled up your ass and bitten you bloody, Great Pretentious One?" she called back snidely. "Because two seconds ago you seemed the nicest embleer rabbit in the world. Or were you just being a flirt?" She wrinkled her nose, feeling an unusual anger rise up inside of her, the offense now growing broader. "Keep trying, honeydew. But for the moment, I believe I've stumbled across something that could be very helpful or very dangerous, and I would like to not find out on my own that it is the latter. So, if it's all the same to you, quit grooming your special area and join me up here." She was billowing with irritation now- not so much towards the remark. Just completely angered by the change from the first face that seemed friendly to just another lying piece of-- Just another... Why had those words come to her mind? Sage felt another pang in the hollowed area of her chest. A lost feeling- but it hurt endlessly. Why did she feel as though she'd been mislead before? Sage dumbly fell to a sitting position, numbed over for a moment by the feeling that ate her up inside. A pained expression stretch all across her form, so much to the point that she did not even hear whatever Runt next had to say. ---- Cayenne laughed at Rowan's response, shaking her head. "Aw, shucks, Mister. Thanks so much." She smiled, trying not to shake too obviously down to her paws. The first outgoing, friendly thing she had mustered towards Rowan--did he accept it? Did he think it cute, or just plain stupid? She didn't dare check his face for a reaction, and pressed on with the digging, thinking how much anxiety would ensue if she were going to dig an entire warren with Rowan right beside her. Fireweed was shaking her head, feeling disgusted by both the project she was tackling and the two talking beside her. She had nothing to say to Rowan, but she all the same bubbled with discontent. Frustratedly, and seemingly accidentally, she let fly back some dirt from her paw, hitting Dash upside the head. She turned with her eyes wide and innocent, watching Dash react. "Frith-rah! My bad!" She gave him the tiniest smile. "No... No, it's still in your fur- I could groom it out for you if you like...?" A seductive look, and a glance at Rowan, looking for his attention once more. |

Runt looked up from his meal. Even though he was upset with her, he couldn't help but notice again - with a slight dose of appreciation - that Sage got quite a temper and a talent for insults. However, when she suggested that he was being a flirt, he was barely able to keep himself from laughing. Me? A flirt? he thought with amused disbelief. Don't she see what I am? I certainly know what I am. A weak undersized rabbit, whom even a weasel wouldn't bother to catch. He knew he would never be able to successfully court any doe, so he had never tried. And he was quite content with being mateless. He raised up and approached Sage to check what she had found. He was less indifferent about this "something" than a few seconds ago, thanks to Sage's indignant reaction to his remark. He also noticed her pained expression and he felt a sting of guilt in his heart, but then he thought: I wasn't the one to start this. When he joined her, he finally saw what she had been talking about. "So... That's what you've found? A hole?" he asked, sniffing at the entrance to check, if he could sense any smell of disease or death or anything dangerous. --- Rowan smiled at Cayenne words. Even though it would be a lie to say that he had always been a fan of digging, now he worked with great enthusiasm. Dash was waiting for Arven's answer when he felt, that something had hit him strongly on the head. It took him a second or two to realize it had been just a bit of dirt. He turned around. Hearing Fireweed's offer and seeing her seductive look (the kind he knew very well), he said with a grin: "I'd like that, Fireweed. I never refuse help of pretty does." Rowan coughed at that, and Dash thought that other rabbit won't be very happy with him being distracted from his work. "But then again, I can handle a little of dirt. But we could clean each others fur after this raid," he said, giving Fireweed a seductive look of his own at the last sentence. |

[[A PREFACE: Stopped posting during finals time of year. >.> Scariest thing of my life. Back now though, hope we can pick up the pace once more in our summery... summer.]] Sage stirred herself once more from her thoughts, letting the pain float away and leaving her back beside Runt, who once again showed a form of interest and kindness. It unsettled her only slightly, the idea that something could be so fickle, but she cleared her throat and once again drew up a stony expression. "Well don't get too excited," she said with a hint of sarcasm, not looking at him. "Yes, a hole. It's just confusing me greatly, is all. We couldn't have dug this, could we? I wouldn't remember. But normally when one digs a hole they like to live in it. And since we're not living in it... Who is?" She gave a short pause, letting the second thought overtake her. "And if no one is... why not?" She turned from Runt once more and sighed. "Frith-rah, my head hurts." ---- Fireweed gave a dainty little smile, seeming flattered by the offer from Dash, and went back to digging as though embarrassed. It was not until her face had turned away that she let her disgust show through. Noticing the connection made between Rowan and Cayenne, such emotions intensified, and all she could do was dig out her anger. Things were not going according to plan. It would take serious effort to put things back on schedule... ...Perhaps even the subtraction of a certain interference. Cayenne could feel her heartbeat pick up as she saw Rowan smile in the corner of her eye. She was a fool, she knew it, but this thrill far exceeded any she had known in the past. Her face grew to a faint blush as she nearly put her face into her hole to hide her overwhelmed reaction. I am such an idiot, she thought to herself with a smile. Suddenly, her paws slipped underneath the bottom of the fence completely, finding that she had dug as far as she needed to. She gave a squeak in surprise and pulled back, having been unprepared. [[As for the hole that Runt and Sage are looking at, there are a lot of different direction that it could steer us in and I'm cool with any of it. In one case, it could just save us a lot of posting about digging an entire warren and we could go straight into warren life, or it could prove dangerous and bring to truth the premonition that Runt had earlier when he said that they could find nothing on "this side of the stream" back when he wanted to cross it, unless he'd just been talking out of his pooper. Whatever goes is up to you xD]] |

"That happens when you think too much," Runt said mockingly. Then, trying to turn this ill-natured comment into something, that wouldn't cause futher hostility, he added self-deprecatingly. "Once I discovered that, I stopped thinking altogether. Not a single headache ever since." He sniffed at the entrance again, but it didn't tell him more about this hole than before. It didn't smell of death or disease or elil. "I don't think it's dangerous. Not now anyway. However, if we want to be certain that it's safe, then somebody will have to go in and check where this tunnel leads." --- Rowan tensed when he heard Cayenne's squeak, thinking for a second she was in some danger. Luckily, it turned out they had made a great progress in digging into the farm. Seeing how little ground was between them and the other side, Rowan doubled his efforts at digging. It didn't take long for him, Cayenne and Fireweed to remove the rest of the soil. Finally they were able to enter the farm. [[I've decided to skip the rest of digging part. I hope you don't mind it. ]][[Runt only said that they won't find the best place to stay, if they keep hopping by the stream. The current potential place for the warren may or may not be the best choice, but it can still be good enough. As for him saying "We will have to cross it at some point", it can refer to many things and to not-near future. After all, Fiver's visions don't always come true immediately after he sees them. My point is: there are many scenarios in which Runt's premonition might be proven correct and it doesn't have to refer to choosing place for rabbits new home. ]]Edited by Myrkin, Jun 22 2012, 04:35:02 PM.

Sage smiled timidly at his joke. At least Runt's here to lighten the mood, she thought with some amount of comfort in this fact. After a moment of silent contemplation, Sage cleared the rest of the rubble covering the opening away and muttered, "Well, there isn't much to do up here. Why not?" And with that, she slipped into the burrow, finding the ground to have a gentle slope. "You coming?" she called over her shoulder, pausing halfway down and suddenly reluctant to barrel through this on her own. Because isn't that always the case. All alone... Another blow to the chest. Sage shut her eyes a moment, another pain grabbing hold of her for just a moment. Another flicker of her concealed past--just a blaze of it before it was gone. Oh... --- Fireweed was the first to poke her head under the fence. The first thing her gaze fell upon was a sleeping dog off by the farmhouse, tied to the porch. "A dog," she whispered after a moment. "But I don't think it'll be a problem if we're quiet." She pulled back her head to look at the group. "But if the thing starts to bark, it'll probably bring out the farmer, which would put us into all sorts of trouble." With the talk of these dangers, Cayenne felt sick to her stomach. She had never even seen a dog before, and the talk of going near one terrified her. "We're all going in, then?" She surely didn't want to stay behind, and she liked the idea of others being around in case troubles arose. She swallowed hard and looked from Arvens to Dash to Rowan. |

To be honest, Runt would rather wait for 'brave, strong warriors' to check this tunnel, but then again what was there to be afraid? This was likely an abandoned tunnel and he couldn't sense anything dangerous in it, so he and Sage would probably be safe entering it. He followed Sage, stopping for a moment at the entrance of the burrow. He was allowing his eyes to get used to the dimness of the tunnel. The light from the outside was getting into this place, but he knew that the farther they would go the more they would have to rely on other senses than their sight. "Alright. Lets see where this ends," Runt said. Sage didn't say anything and she didn't move forward. She seemed to be in some kind of trance. Runt nudged her lightly. "Are you okay, Sage?" --- Rowan followed Fireweed's gaze, noticing the dog too. "That was to be expected," he said firmly, "I would be suprised, if there wasn't any dog on this farm or a cat at least. No matter. We just need to be quiet and get our fleyrah quickly and we should be fine. Rabbits steal food from under dogs' noses all the time." He didn't show any fear or hesitation. He had often raided a farm when he had been an Owsla officer in his previous warren, so understandably he had a lot of self-confidence. However, he said these words mostly to reassure others, who weren't experienced soldiers, and to inspire confidence in them. He knew they will need it. "I'll go first. Wait a bit and then follow," he said to his companions, before going into he hole and then coming out on the other side of the fence. He hopped forward, scouting quietly the nearest rows of cabbage. If there was something else hiding amongst them (like cat), then he would either find it or provoke it to attack him. That would give the rest of rabbits enough time to run away safely.
