*Whispers* Applejack is actually a guy. He's just really feminine. But don't tell anyone I said that! No-one is supposed to know!

Gender typos?

Noble, not Nobel. Spike isn't handing out a prize here.

I really don't know what to say about this episode.

But I watched it and it was good I suppose.

And now... there's a two week hiatus before the next new episode airs. Which will be an episode I don't like the concept of but will watch it/force myself to watch it anyway.

This wasn't one of the better ones. Spike was way out of character. And Twilight should be more perceptive!

[new headcanon] Perhaps they have some kind of friendship-buff; +Intelligence to Spike and +Perception to Twilight. [/new headcanon]

And why did the mane six have to trick Spike? Couldn't Applejack just tell the truth and be honest? It's almost like with "The Mysterious Mare Do Well", where the mane six (- RD) slowly breaks Rainbow Dash's spirit instead of being open about their feelings.

... Couldn't Applejack just tell the truth and be honest?...
Heh, it's funny because she's the Element of Honesty...

Anyway, the episode was "eh".
That's all I have to say.

They aren't perfect avatars of their elements. Fluttershy has her non-discorded aggressive persona that happens when she takes assertiveness too far. Twilight's element is "friendship"....yet she's a shut-in bookworm that couldn't be more clueless about socializing with others. Pinkie Pie's insecurity can kill the laughter. And this wouldn't be the first time Applejack was dishonest. Telling Pinkie Pie she would tell her what was bothering her over breakfast, and then high-tailing it come breakfast, was a deliberate misdirection from the truth.

They had to trick Spike because his 'dragon code' would never let him accept "I don't want your help" as an answer. I'd be more worried about the lack of Fluttershy and Rarity talking sense into them, since they already had the 'be honest with each other' epiphany.

Not a super-spectacular entertaining episode, though here were parts that made me laugh.
