He played with his brother, fought with his brother and basically liked a good laugh and muck around town. Droning his way through school, which he hated, he lived for the weekends when he could play sport, having taken a particular shine to football. One particular summer holiday was a little odd. See this letter arrived, a rather bizarre letter really and at first they all laughed about it and thought it was a really good joke. It was only when Alec and his older brother sent back a rather ... interesting reply letter and they received one back that they toyed with the idea of this being legitimate. That didn't go down too well. He and his brother had always been close, sure they fought like all kids do, but most of the time they were buddies. And now one of them was leaving and -gasp- Wizards didn't do football! What was wrong with these people? Finding himself in Gryffindor and more than a little wet behind the ears he discovered hope in the form of Quidditch. Aching for flying class and rather angry it was only for first years ... surely things could be improved upon ... he yearned for a broom of his very own and relished each and every game, even tagging along to the occasional Gryffindor practice session. He lived and breathed Quidditch and by fourth year he was accepted on the his house team as a Beater as a position had finally opened up. His classes weren't exactly a highlight and as such he wasn't exactly a star. One particular class he took a shine too though was DADA. He found it quite enjoyable as it had many aspects and wasn't all books or 'swish and flick'. But his first love was Quidditch so when he was approached by Scouts in 7th year to join a UK team he said 'yes please' before they even finished their sentence. The Tutshill Tornado's were a blast. The team did well enough and he was able to learn a lot more about the sport than he had in school. After ten years and many, many towel girls however he started looking around for something ... different. Applying for a teaching position at Hogwarts Uni, and who wouldn’t want a famous Quidditch playing teaching their kids so he was accepted at his interview. Years passed and Alec found himself being asked to be head of Gryffindor house, also his friends children started coming to Uni, one of which was Quirinius Burke, a sassy blonde part veela who he’d been eyeing off for years except her father was one of his closest friends and could likely kill him, and her mother certainly could. But when Quin started to pursue him all beats where off and the two where damn near inseparable. Sure there were some bumps and hiccups in the road but the two years on Alec and Quin are married, he is still teaching, Quin writes articles for the Daily Prophet while rasing Alec and her twin toddlers. Not bad for a Beater from Birmingham. |
