Walking along, Remus stopped as he neared the statue of the ugly gargoyle; he watched it for a few moments. Taking a few steps forward, Remus took a deep breath slowly keeping his head high. He looked to the statue and crossed his arms, trying to look as though he knew what he was doing. “Pepper Imp” He said, waiting a few moments before feeling a jolt. He grabbed onto the gargoyle watching as he turned upwards only stopping when it got to the entrance of the headmasters office. Looking in, Remus took a few steps forward glancing around remembering what Dumbledore’s office use to be like. Smiling wide, he began to wonder how much it had changed since then. From him opinion, it had not changed much. Walking forward, Remus looked over to the desk only stopping to stand in front of it. “Headmaster Richards. Did you find Headmaster Dumbledore’s notes on me from the 1970’s?” Remus asked, trying to seem confident in front of the headmaster. He wanted to make a good impression after all. |

Clarence looked up when he heard the sound of the stone gargoyle moving, which indicated that a visitor was about to enter the office. Clarence had sent Remus Lupin an owl a few days previous stating that he needed the young Gryffindor to come to his office after the feast on the first night of term; Clarence had a very busy schedule in the days leading up until the first of September, so the evening after the feast was the earliest appointment time he'd had available. It was vital that Clarence could speak to Mr. Lupin as early as possible about what they were to do about his affliction. "Good evening, Mr. Lupin," Clarence gave the boy a smile as the Gryffindor walked towards his desk. "Please, have a seat," Clarence nodded toward a small squishy armchair on the opposite side of the desk to Clarence's seat. "Yes, I found your file and Albus' notes along with it. It seems we have much to discuss," Clarence gently patted the brown paper folder which was in the centre of the desk. Stamped on the front of the folder in a dark blue ink was the boy's name: LUPIN, R. "Now, first and foremost, Remus, I must ask if you are aware of the Wolfsbane Potion and its effects?" |

Remus smiled towards the headmaster, nodding towards him. He looked over to the armchair, giving a small nod before walking over and sitting down. He seemed to sink into the seat, it was very comfortable. Pulling himself up, he tried to sit up straight his knees together and arms resting on his lap. He looked to the folder, nodding slightly before sitting back a little more. He knew that it probably involved a lot of information from what he use to do then regarding the transformation. Hearing the Wolfsbane potion mentioned, Remus looked around the room without thinking for a moment. Everything was brighter than what it usually would be, the browns seemed to beam out rather than dull away. All the reflections seemed clearer rather than foggy. Quickly turning back to the headmaster, Remus clawed through his mind trying to grab every piece of information he could remember. “It helps you keep your mind when you turn into a werewolf... Right?” He questioned, taking out the potion he had got from his pocket and putting it on the table. |

"Correct," Clarence nodded, smiling. It seemed that the boy had done his homework, but then, who could blame him? The Wolfsbane Potion was the closest thing to a cure for being a werewolf. And for Remus, who had gone years without such a thing in existence, he'd probably see the potion as a miracle. "The Wolfsbane potion does not prevent the physical transformation itself, but if you take it every day in the week leading up to the full moon, it will allow you to remain a human mentally," the Headmaster paused as he saw Remus take out a vial from his pocket and place it onto the table. Clarence frowned as he plucked up the glass container, studying the potion inside. "Remus... where did you get this?" Clarence asked. |

Remus smiled as he got the potion right, he was thrilled that he would be able to keep his own thoughts while a transformation. But he’d have to take the potion practically every day, he didn’t mind however; as long as he was in his own mind frame during the transformation he would be fine. He nodded listening to the headmaster’s description; he couldn’t wait to start taking it. There was a full moon before he was pulled through the portal, so if he started taking it now he could get through the next transformation right? “I went to the potion room once I had read about it, there was a professor in there and he gave me some. The man looked very familiar though...” Remus commented before looking back to the container. |

Clarence relaxed and placed the potion back on the desk. "Excellent. I asked Professor Snape to start brewing some a while ago; he's excellent with Potions - I haven't seen a finer Wolfsbane in years," Clarence paused, "but you see, I had to check that you'd gotten this from a reliable source. There are some reallu nasty side-effects if it is not brewed properly. Not that you need to worry about that now," Clarence said and then nodded to the Wolfsbane potion on the desk. "I'd recommend that you take that potion tonight and then head back down to the Dungeons tomorrow and ask for some more. Professor Snape will be more than happy to supply you with the potions. He will make some for you every month and ensure that you are well prepared for the full moon," Clarence made a mental note to call Severus to his office and let him know of the arrangement he'd made with Remus. "Now, am I correct in assuming that you used to transform in the Shrieking Shack?" |
