Mission Statement Fusion of the Towers was created to make a place where fans of The Wheel of Time can get to know each other, and form friendships. As a roleplay site, we are dedicated to developing quality writing and plotting skills and actively roleplaying in the world created by Robert Jordan. History The complete history written by M'hael Reor Rahidram made the rules section too long based on board specifications. It can be found here. Please read the history to ensure that you have adequate information about the world in which we at Fusion play. Out of Character Rules Respect all members Use proper titles, unless otherwise directed Moderators and Administrators have authority for a reason, listen to them. Any problems with people abusing their power can be directed to an admin When you know you're going to be gone, post a LoA Keep posts to a PG-13 rating Roleplay/In Character Rules Do not godmod (IE don't play another character's reaction without permission, even if it's something small). Use past tense Use third person Italics should only be used for: Character thoughts Notes/letters in the post Emphasis on words Words in the Old Tongue Use sentences and paragraphs Use correct grammar (we understand that English is not the first language of everyone on the site, please do your best) Do not use italics, astrisks or other indication to show action, write it out. Joining In order to join Fusion of the Towers, we ask a few things: You have read Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time up to and including the Dragon Reborn. You are at least 13 years of age You have read and understand the rules and history of the site. Once you have read and understand the rules, and meet the three above requirements, feel free to register on the boards. Name Rules Use your character's name (first or first and last) as your username Please come up with an original name, do not take names from the Wheel of Time, or another series you have read. After registering Post in the Sign Up Thread and one of the admins will set your permissions. Post your Biography. After your bio is posted, you may begin RPing. Avatars All members are required to have an avatar, it should look at least somewhat like you picture your character, as this is his or her only portrait. If the image you want for your avatar is copyrighted, either get the artist's permission, or do not use it. Ideal avatar size is 110x170 pixels If you do not know where to get an avatar, try these sites: Site 1, Site 2, Site 3 (Note, all avatars found on site 3 are preapproved for use, and not currently taken by another member) At this time, there are no restrictions on changing avatars, provided that changes are infrequent and within reason More avatar information can be found in this thread Signatures All members can use either a text or graphic sig. Text sigs can be no longer than 10 lines; graphic sigs can be no larger than 400x150 pixels. Novices, soldiers and recruits may have up to 3 extra lines of text in their sig, if they use a graphic sig Accepted and Dedicated may have up to 4 extra lines of text in their sig, if they use graphic sig Senior Members may have up to 5 extra lines of text, if they use a graphic sig Sigs cannot move, though small moving smilies outside are allowed You <strong>must</strong> have a link to your biography in your signature Your Talents <strong>must</strong> be listed in your sig Bonding The requirements for a bonding are as follows: Both applicants must be senior members The applicants must be of different factions Asha'man may bond Gaidin (male or female) or Aes Sedai Aes Sedai may bond Gaidin (male or female) or Asha'man Gaidin may be bonded by Aes Sedai or Asha'man Applicants characters have met more than once in character Only Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah will be allowed to have more than one bondmate Once you have determined that you want to bond, both applicants must PM an admin. Once your bonding is OK'd, you will have to RP the bonding. We will always take special circumstances into consideration, if you have a good IC reason, we will consider making exceptions to these rules. Force-bonding is acceptable only if both members agree OOC, any force-bonding without prior OOC consent will not be recognized as a bond, and will result in a warning. A bonding is permanent! There are only two reasons that a bond can be dissolved: 1) Your bondmate leaves the site/is killed; 2) Your bondmate is gone for over sixty days without LoA. If you want to dissolve a bond, please be sure to let the admins know. Under extreme circumstances, bonds may be dissolved without one member being gone, and will be concidered on a case-by-case basis, and only granted for good IC reasons. Aes Sedai in the books know how to dissolve a bond, it simply is not done. Secondary Characters Secondary characters are allowed at Fusion, for anyone who wishes to play another character, however there are a few requirements. You must be a dedicated member of the site before creating a secondary You may create as many characters as you wish, as long as you can keep up with them all Senior members must inform an admin before creating a secondary character Junior members must receive admin approval before creating a secondary character Abbreviations Abbreviations are often used on many Wheel of Time forums, below are some of the most useful and commonly used.
