Erin sat in her office waiting for her visitor. It was the office of the Military Governor of Tar Valon. It was a post that was usually only active during wartime or times of acute emergency. It would normally be held by her brother Robert, but he was so busy with preparations for the upcoming war he had delegated it to his older sister, who was better known to the oligarchs and guildmasters who had the most influence in the City. Yet she herself would be leaving soon on a self appointed mission. A mission of revenge. One of her very best friends, Kiren Thyme, the former commander of the Garrison, had been murdered in Andor just a few short weeks ago, and Erin was determined to find who had done the deed, and who had ordered it, and bring them back for Tower justice. The only thing they knew was that Kiren had been stabbed from behind with a poisoned blade, in broad daylight, and no one had seen the deed. She had just dropped dead on the spot. That right there smacked of a channeler or channelers. To help get her revenge Erin was going to have the aid of Robert's Scout Company, his very own collection of dirty-trickers, thieves, assassins and whores. She was waiting for the other help she had been promised: channelers from the Black Tower. They were supposed to arrive any minute now. |

Sarecer rode a tall black war horse down the wide streets of Tar Valon, he wasn't alone three of his best Asha'man rode with him. Their black uniforms told all who looked who they were there was no hiding. He had been called on to supply a few of his Asha'man to aid the garrison in its quest for justice Kiren had been head of the Gaidin for a long time before she was murdered. It seemed that after so long people started to believe one immortal he wondered at the sort of uproar there would be if he died. He almost laughed with his record if he died no body would be surprised. But as it stood Kirens death had rocked TarValon to the bedrock beneath the two towers. Turning Hurricane left down another wide street they continued to walk in silence they had already gone over what needed to be done. Luceen, tall and dark rode beside him on his left. Gregor a short chunky Asha'man from Tear, and Henry an average sized plan man from Andor rode just behind them. They were all powerful channelers and three of his best war fighters. If he trusted anyone he trusted them. It didn't take them long after they turned the last corner to get to the office of the Military Governer it was a large building usually reserved for other diplomatic operations. Sarecer dismounted Hurricane and handed the reins to one of the servants. The other three following him he entered the building to be met by a high ranking servant who lead them to Erins office. The man entered to announce them but Sarecer didn't wait for the man to come out he walked in behind him, he bowed his head the slightest bit to the woman. Sarecer smiled and ignored the shocked look in the servants face. "Good morning Mis Laurel." |

Erin got out from behind her desk and came forward to greet her visitors. She knew Sarecer somewhat slightly, and she nodded as he introduced the others. Siobhan and three members of her Scout Company entered the room just after. Erin got quickly to the business at hand. "Thank you, Asha'man Sarecer for coming." She motioned to a nearby table. "Over here is all of the evidence that was collected from the crime scene. I would like for you to review it and see what theories you can come up with." In truth Erin was curious to see what the older man would say or do. She had never worked with male channelers before, and was intensely curious. She watched as the four men moved over to the table and began examining the items there. ((I'm giving you lots of room to improvise...)) |

Sarecer nodded his head and walked over to the table that displayed the evidence collected thus far. He looked down at the scant amount of items picking up the tunic that the warder had been wearing. He eyed the small hole and the blood stain then put the shirt down giving it no more of his attention. The dagger that had been retrieved from Kiren's corpse was being examined by Luceen weaves of spirit tickled the edge of the blade and the hilt. Luceen shook his head and placed the dagger down. "There are no traces of the power present." He said walking to a vacant chair and sitting down. Sarecer nodded his head again and glanced at the rest of the items before turning to Erin. "There is not much here that proves helpful to us. Do you know anything that hasn't yet been said?" he finished walking over to Luceen and sitting in another of the chairs. He gestured for Erin and the other two Asha'man to do the same. |

Erin frowned as the items tested negative for the Power. She had been hoping that traces would be found, as that would explain how the assassin had been able to do his work. She sat, and looked over the details which she had gotten from Andor. "The Andorans say that the crime happened at dusk, when she was out walking from the inn she had been staying to go outside the town. She had been drinking, but was not the worse the wear. Kiren had a large capacity for alcohol," she said dryly. Light knows that she drank me under the table a few times! "The crime happened on one of the main streets, just past an alleyway, and was very quick. The Andorans found no traces of anyone having been in that alley. As Kiren was a wolfkin, it should have been impossible for anyone to take her unawares. I am hoping that you possibly come up with a way this may have happened." |
