Okay what happens is people make those things and if you do anything with them other than shut them down as soon as it appears you risk having real viruses put on your computer. Most of these are key loggers and Trojans so they can get your info or screw with your stuff because they are jerks. |

It sounds like some kind of virus to me. I got 2 within a week about 2 months ago. I got a warning like what you got, and it ran a "scan" telling me I had bunches of trojans and stuff. I, assuming it was a scam, closed the window. Unfortunately, it was a virus, and I kept getting pop-ups from this bogus program telling me I had trojans and needed to pay to have them removed from this "excellent" software. Maybe yours was just an add or scam, but it might have been a virus. I used a program called Malwarebytes to get rid of it. It ran a scan on my computer (and found several viruses), then gave me the option of removing them. Haven't had any major troubles since.

*nods* poked the hubby about it as soon as he got up; he ran a real scan after it which got rid of some junk; it should be fine now. bleh, don't see why people keep bothering with that stuff. |
