"Or you could serve Rei Valarian for a month, I'm sure if he really was hurt by you he can find things for you to do." Cayana answered once Shaya had finished speaking. The girl certainly could ramble on like any of the other novices. "Or are you telling me that getting physically abused is a better punishment to learn not to toy with the feelings of an Asha'man hidden behind a wall of cold and silence?" Cayana knew that as well as any other. Valarian may have been the same the entire time Cayana had been at the towers but she was sure this wasn't the way he had been when he was young, the cold was to bitter for that. On top of that Cayana knew he had been bonded once. What had happened to break it she didn't know, neither who the woman had been. Rumors about it didn't float around so long after the bond had been broken. For it had been quite some time surely.

"I think you need a lesson about the black tower, I will give you one, but after that I want you to report to Asha'man Valarian in his office in the quarters of the Al'Aman Val. Have I made myself clear?" She eyed the girl for a moment before continuing. "Then lets go." She said and stood up. "This isn't the place for tower lessons, now is it?" She smiled at the girl. Clearly Shaya would make a good Aes Sedai if she chose that path the girl just needed to finish up her act and stop getting into trouble.

Leaving the office before Shaya the three novices standing there in line curtsied. One of them spoke before Cayana had even given them a glance. "Cayana Sedai, Vema Sedai sent us after class. We where late..." With such an act Cayana stopped and looked straight at the girl. The girl didn't back down though. "For being late you have 4 hours of extra kitchen chores for the rest of the month, for speaking before told to, you have 6 hours a day doing laundry." the girls eyes bulged as she counted it all up. "But Aes Sedai, that would leave no time for classes." Cayana only smiled a little. "I guess it doesn't." Then she turned and started walking. "Come on Shaya."

Walking through the halls with Shaya at her side Cayana where quiet for a while. Shaya had much to learn and the display Cayana had just shown where what Shaya had indirectly asked about earlier without getting an answer. "The Asha'man of today would in the Age of Legends have been called Aes Sedai. The word meaning Servants of All. Asha'man was a word the Dragon Reborn used for his army of male channelers and it means guardian, or sword blade. The old tongue has many translations. Today they work along side of the white tower to rebuild things as they once where. The systems are still parted except for the Red Shen which replaced the Red Ajah. Do you know about the Red Ajah?" Cayana looked over at Shaya as she continued downwards towards the courtyard that lead to the Black Tower. To see was a good way to remember.

(ooc: If you don't mind too much, I would very much like to pick this up again, because you've done a wonderful job here and it would be great for my character development!)

Shaya had a hard time hiding her surprise as Cayana led her out the office. It once again made her aware of the fact that with all her insight into human nature, Aes Sedai still made a habit out of continuously surprising her. The last thing she would have expected was the Mistress of Novices to take it upon herself to teach her about the Black Tower. Her curious side was intrigued, while her heart made summersaults at the thought of having to serve the Al’Aman Val. The Old Tongue rolled of Cayana’s lips like she had been speaking it all her life and Shaya felt a pang of admiration. The Old Tongue was definitely something she would like to learn more about. Despite the fact that she was still a mess of emotions and confusion, she found herself looking forward to what Cayana had in store for her. She had to suppress a smile as Cayana admonished the novice on her way out, the girl had been asking for that one, but for her own sake she would learn quickly to guard her tongue, or she’d still be scrubbing pots when her hair was grey. For now she could only meekly follow the mistress of Novice and wait and see where it would take her. She gave the question about the Red Ajah some careful thought before replying though; she had heard rumours of the Red Ajah, but they were no more than that. She had no clear idea of what they did or what they stood for. She had met one of them in the library and she seemed quite fierce, but didn't they actually work together with the Black tower channelers? "I have heard of them Cayana Sedai, but I only know very little about them". They continued walking and Shaya wondered why Cayana would ask her about the Reds.

Nodding Cayana kept walking. "The Red Ajah was a fraction of Aes Sedai dedicated to rid the world of male channelers. When the Dragon Reborn cleansed the source however, the Ajah started to fall apart. The Red Shen was a peace offering between the Towers. To hold them together and give the reds a new goal they came up with the idea of letting teams of Aes Sedai and Asha'man search out and destroy darkfriends. Mostly they search for those high in hierarchy, like nobles, military guys, and even those who try to get through our own ranks." It was always hard to say the last, but it was reality, and Cayana had to face it just like everyone else. Even though she knew everyone didn't. "They work as partners up until one retire or dies. They then are assigned or have to find a new partner." She started up some stairs and they soon came up on an other floor where they continued walking. "Just as the White Tower the Black Tower has their fractions, Shen, brotherhood. I think you know the names of them but I'll repeat them anyway. The al'Aman Val, the dragon guard, the al'Doon M'taal, black stones, the al'N'dore al'Mordero, Dancers of death and last but not least the al'Cha Dieb, Wind Talon."

"The al'Aman Val is the Black Tower answer to the Green Ajah. They are fighters, an army fighting against the dark. The al'Doon M'taal are the equivalent of the Gray, even if you should keep in mind that all the members of the Black Tower, in difference to the White, are trained warriors. The al'N'dore al'Mordero, are they equivalent of the Yellow and the al'Cha Dieb are concentrated upon the development of weaves, and one power objects, so in a way they are like the Brown, but their research is much more concentrated on that subject." Having explained all the Shens names as well as what they did Cayana moved on to rankings. "Unlike the White Tower the rank of an Asha'man is clearly visible even in lower ranks. They have a very military structure with the Shens head or as they call it, Rei, being the superior of all the Asha'man in his Shen able to order then just like any admiral or general in an army. The Rei of a Shen doesn't only wear the marking of his Shen on his cuffs, but also..." She kept on explaining the markings outside of the pin and colored cuffs of each of the official ranks of the Shens as they made their way though the Black Tower. But eventually they reached the al'Aman Val halls and Rei Valerians office. "Now, you know the basics. So try to remember it all. Now you should report to the Rei of the al'Aman Val here," she gestured towards the door, "If he's not in at the moment, you'll wait until he comes. He'll find work for you for the rest of the month and that includes all of your free time unless he states otherwise. Am I making myself clear?"

((OOC: I am sorry for not responding to this thread for a long time. Don't worry about the punishment IC. You can RP it if you'd like, but it's not necissary. Perhaps it'll give you some oportunities ;) Have fun))
