Frequently dropping into a curtsey, Mika made her way trough the halways as fast as she could without obviously hurrying. Surely it was a freeday and she had neither chores not classes, but any Aes Sedai could still stop her and make her do a task for them, effectively keeping her busy the entire day, so she decided it was best to reach her destination as soon as possible She was aiming to -unlike most of the other novices today- get to the library, to do some calm, uninterupted studying. but as she almost set foot within the large hall, suddenly she heard a serene voice say 'child' and immediately Mika turned around, saw that the Aes Sedai was adressing her and dropped into a curtsey, whining to herself. "Child did you happen to have seen Potiev Sedai?" the question rang and mika promply answered, hoping that this was the only thing the sister wanted "I've just seen her in the mess hall Aes Sedai, I believe she might still be there." she said as she looked up to the woman whose face seemed to brighten. "Very good. thank you child" the brown said as she moved on, a soft motherly smile on her face making Mika sigh happily as she herself entered the infirmary. As she walked in, she immediately got the 'library-feeling' the feeling of ancient wisdom at the top of her fingers, the feeling of silence and calm concentration.... it was short of amazing each time she entered the room "welwel child. I hadn't expect t see even you here on a freeday, you had to have done something exceptionally bad" Mika suddenly heard from behind her as she turned around to drop into a curtsey for the librarian "so?" Mika briefly looked at the ground. indeed far to many of the times that she was in here was during a punishment -and she had learned a lot from that actually- "Actually Aes Sedai, I'm not punished, I'd just like to use the time of this freeday to do some studying." she said in a meek voice while trying to find any sign of surprise -which she didn't find- on the brown sisters face. "very well the" the brown said with the smalest of smiles before she turned her attention back to the book in front of her and let Mika walk of again. And so Mika started walking trough the library, heading to the section she wanted to learn more about... ter'angreal. |

Kathera walked through the library, dropping curtsies to passing brown Aes Sedai. They were used to her now, and not at all suprised to find her in the library on a freeday. Skimming the titles, the novice moved to a different asile, looking for something in particular. Angreal. The idea of magnifying the one power interested her, but the red haired girl was more thoughtfull of how to actually make angreal. Giving a curtsie to a passing Accepted, Kathera looked over the titles. Ah, she thought. here we are. Pulling out the leather-bound book, she made her way to one of the many reading tables. Quietly seating herself, the novice opened the book. The library was her sanctuary on such days as this. To be truthfull, her only friend was an Accepted she didn't see very often. And she exspecially wanted to avoid a novice named Mika, as because of her... well, Mika probably didn't think nice things about her now. Definatly not. Kathera thought, a brief smile going over her lips. Cayana could be... intimidating. Very intimidating. Sighing at the thought, Kathera thought of her punishment. Because of the freeday, she wasn't scrubbing pots at the moment. And because of the freeday she could study her latest intrest: angreal. TO magnify the one power using an inanimate object? Facinating. Exspecialy on how one would make them. |

As she was walking, Mika's mind meandered calmly trough the maze that was in her head. somewhere within her she wondered whether she'd better not go into the city, to see something, visit the ogier grove, eat something nice, buy some candy, have a drink somewhere; after all, when her brother had gotten 'lost' in his arches, she was given 'compensation' or 'grief-money' or whatever they called it for his absense. Surely it was a great sum; one that would have made her parents rich, but to Mika it meant ver little at the moment... it was just too little. but then again, not even all the money in the world could be enough to make up for her loss. The knowledge however... One of the reasons why -unlike usual on a freeday- 'buy prankthings' wasn't on her 'to-do' list, was because of the knowledge. Somehow Mika had the feeling that she needed to learn now, she had broken her block and it felt as if a whole new world had opened; she could actually advance, and she would. She would stand before those arches; as fast as possible; for she wanted to see them, wanted to know what they could do, wanted to know why and where her brother had been 'lost' Lost in the maze of her mind, Mika kept on walking, carefully noting though where she was all the time so she wouldn't get lost -something which was really easy here- when suddenly, as she walked into the final corridor, she noticed a speck of white with bright red hair. Curious to see whether she was right,Mika turned around and looked again, recognising Kathera whom she hadn't spoken in almost a month now; the last time with the other girl telling her she'd gone to the mistress of novices to confess about their paintjob. Wondering whether to talk or not to the girl, Mika turned around once more and let her feet carry herself to the section she wanted and after a while she turned away from the rack with 'tools of the One Power' by Elayne Trakand Aes Sedai in her hands, heading towards Kathera. Obviously the girl was drowing in her book -apparently one about angreal and ter'angreal as well- and did not notice Mika approaching untill she spoke up softly before sitting down "So, who was it that found out about us?" she asked, with of course in mind the conviction that someone had known who the culprits of the paintjob had been. |

Kathera looked up, startled, as another novice spoke to her. Mika was sitting in front of her, a book on angreal in her hands. The novice stared, rather suprised that Mika was talking to her. Closing the book slowly, Kathera opened her mouth, and shut it again. What to say? Should she tell her about the recruit that had threatened her, or should she just say she went fur punishment herself? Kathera wanted to regain Mika's friendship... yet she had turned the other novice in. Glancing down at her book, she swallowed, sudenly mute, and tried to regain her scattered thoughts. Gulping quietly, the novice began. "Well... I was heading back to the dormitories when a recruit approached me. He was subtle... but, well, he threatened me about Cayana Sedai." Looking at Mika, the novice forced a lopsided smile. "I'm not as practiced with my fists as I used to be.. So I figured it would be better if I went to Cayana myself, instead of getting 'ushered' to her by a band of angry, blue, recruits. So I stood up, told the recruit a thing or two, and marched of to Cayana's office." "Well, Cayana asked me what I did, and I told her. Really, she already knew, so I suppose it's better that I went without promting. She asked me if anyone else was with me, and I told her there were three other novices. After that, she gave me my punishment, and told me to send you and Alilisa over for yours." Kathera looked down at the book, rather angery at herself. Looking up, she spoke ocwardly. "Look.... Mika... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get us into trouble." Staring down at her book, she glanced over at Mika's It seemed they were interested in the same thing. Well, angreal was a fasinating subject. Making your ability to hold more of the One Power stronger... magnificent. |

Mika listened and looked at the other novice and as she talked Mika briefly thought I knew it there always had to be some reason why someone turned themselves in, at least for these kind of harmless pranks. "What are you saying sorry for?" she asked softly smiling. "It's not as if we wouldn't have been caught otherwise...it's a risk of the trade..." she bent over and quickly hugged the other girl who looked a bit weakly and sad, but Mika could hardly understand why she'd feel bad for what she'd done... it had only been natural and Mika would've done the same if she'd been in her place As she sat back on her chair decently she looked at the other girls open book, wondering why the other novice was studying them too. "Trying to find some infor about upcoming arches perhaps?" Mika asked suddenly, an indication of what she was doing at the moment. she knew she was far from being raised, but wanted to know everything she could about those arches anyways; not that she expected to find a lot. The other girl however could be close to being raised. |

Kathera smiled weakly as Mika gave her a hug, glad that the other novice had forgiven her. "Trying to find some info on the arches, perhaps?" Mika asked, and the red-haired girl was glad to awnser. "No... the idea of magnifying the one power intrests me. And, anyways, once you go through the arches, you have to swear not tell speak of it with anyone that hasn't gone through them as well... so I don't really think you're going to find much about them." Looking down at her book, Kathera opened it once again, knowing she could read know that Mika had forgiven her. It was always hard to study when a good friend could be mad at you, and she was glad it was over with, though she still had her punishment in the kitchens to do for the day. Well, at least both Mika and Alilisa had forgiven her. It would be easier to get through the four hours, knowing that. Staring down at her book, Kathera decided to read as she waited for Mika's reply. Well, Mika was right in one way. Kathera did want to find out more about the arches, but not with reading about them. She wanted to go through them, both to study them and become Accepted, so she could be at the same level as Marian, her Accepted friend. It was sort of akward for Marian to be an Accepted when all her friend were novices, and Kathera wanted to help her in more than just acting like she always had. She wanted to become an Accepted, both for her and Marian. Of course, when that happened, if ever, she might still have some novice friends. If Marian was finding it so hard, it would probably be just as hard for her. |

Mika listened to the other girl, assuming that, when she turned her head to the books she did not want to let their chatter disturnb her studies anymore. So as she softly nodded to the other girl she opened the book and started looking for the arches. As expected there was some information on the arches as well as about other worlds and thus Mika let herself be led by that subject, trying to find more information about it from other ter angreal that seemed to have a purpose with other worlds as well. For a few hours Mika just sat there, reading, writing, and getting up once in a while to get another book for different references. It was when she was making one of her walks to get another book that she thought of something else; the talent of 'travelling' and she found herself standing in the library, a copy of a heavy book in her arms, wondering how one exactly 'travelled' what it was about; after all she knew she had the talent but had never effectively tried to -consiously- make such a difficult and complex weave. Would it use other realities? the thought just flashed by in her mind and Mika went towards another section as soon as she'd put back the big book. She arrived at the section she was looking for and read some of the titles, all had something about travelling in it, but one of them in particular sparked her interest, it was a book written by a white titled "Travelling trough Unseen Worlds" She took it out and opened the first page. At least an hour or two later Mika still sat there, wrestled trough the first chapter and softly grumbling to herself that she'd left her stationaries on the desk, but she was too enthralled by the logic and intrigue of the book to get up from the corner she now sat it. |
