Asha'man al'Aman Val, Lost during the War
(( Rialt gave me permission))

Resolute strode through the halls towards the room where he was to meet his teacher. Garnian Asha'man his name was. Resolute sighed he had hoped to get an Asha'man he knew but apparently that was not to be. Not that he knew that many anyway. His Mentor Rialt Asha'man was terribly busy, and as such he was prevented from fulfilling his duties as a mentor at this time. So he had been given atemporary teacher. At least he had decided on what he aspired to, The Red Shen. Now all he needed was a partner. As he reached the door, he took a deep breath before pushing on in.

Garnian looked up as his new student entered. A tall boy, no young man. There was the look of one who had seen and given death in it. No one with that look could be called boy. Sanding he offerd the Soldier his hand.

"Welcome Resolute, I am Garnian Asha'man, I i will be teaching you how to Channel. With my help you will learn to become one of us."

Garnian gestured to the chairs around them, "Please site." As Resolute did so, he nodded "very well, we will begin. I want you to close your eyes. Focus in on yourself. On the edge of your consciousness there should be a sense, almost a light. Reach for it, seise it."

As Resolute did as the Asha'man instructed him, he seised the light. He felt him resist it, he struggled with it pulling it towards himself he supposed. Sighing, he was about to give up but with one final heave it pured into him a whirling chaos of Death and life, fire and ice. He felt alive and more in tough than ever. yet at the same time his body could have been another for all the dullnes he felt. The wonder of it all amased him until he was commanded ot puch it away. Once again he struggled until finnally suceeding. Turning to the Asha'man" how was that?" He panted.

Garnian studied the boy as he seised Saidin. It was a struggle it always was but still he had managed to grab it. No Block. That was good a man with a block was never fun. "That was good Resolute you are farily strong for your age. You will be strong one day."

Garnian waatched as the boy Seized Saidin , and held it for a moment pure joy on his face, until Garnian told him to release it. The boy was strong he showed much potential. "That was good Resolute you are fairly strong for your age." The boy nodded, and panted some more. "Now for this first bit we are just going to practice seizing and releasing. The more you practice the easier it will become for you until you will always be able to grasp it when you will."

Resolute listened to Garnain's words with pride He was farily strong for his age? He felt elated Saidin was like being in battle it was song of death and life. Joy and sadness. When Garnian told him to continue he nodded, then steeled himself.

He reached and Saidin slipped through his fingers. So to speak. Grimacing, Resolute conetrated. Reaching Saidin this time sprang on him for a moment he flounderd, before recovering. After a moment he realsed Saidian. At a nod from Garnian, Resolute seized agian. Saidian came to him much more easily. Finally after about half-an-hour Resolute was exhausted, he turned to Garnain again to see what to do.

Garnian smiled. The Boy would be strong one day indeed. He had natural endurance with handling Saidin. Finally however the boy could do no more. Rising, he spoke " Come here, I can help you slightly with your tiredness, channeling tiredness is not the same as normal tiredness, but i can lessen it." After he did so he stepped back. "Next time we shall learn more about channeling itself.

As Resolute felt the tiredness wash away from himself, or at least most of it he knew he was ready to channel now, then as he heard that they were to learn more about channeling. He looked forward to his next lesson as he left happy but exhausted

Garnian took a step away from Resolute, and seized Saidin. Holding it for a moment, he again ponderd his words into what he wanted to say. "There are five elements of the One Power. Fire," As he said Fire he pulled a weave of Fire into visibility," Earth," He agian pulled out the weave. "Spirit," again he demonstrated the weave. "Water, and Air" The last two weaves had been smaller, as they were not his strengths. "Womena are traditionally stronger in Water and Air, whereas men are stronger in Fire and Earth. Spirit is shared more or less equally. No you try."

Resolute listened carefully as Garnian Asha'man instructed him in what to do. Sezing Saidin again, he focused and then pulled slightly until a vibrant red weave, Fire sprung from him. It was thick and vibrant. Next he did Earth, a brown weave, that was almost as thick and vibrant as Fire. Next came Spirit, purple was its color, and it too was rather thick and vibrant. When Air came it was noticeably weaker than the others, but still reasonable in size. Water a deep blue was hard he dropped it the first few times but eventually he managed to bring it out. Thinner and less forceful it was but that was all the weaves. Resolute released them and turned back to the Asha'man.

Garnian blinked at the boys Fire weave he was strong in Fire it appeared. He would be very strong one day in that at least. Earth too was healthy, and Spirit. Air was noticeably dimineshed, and water almost failed. He let out a sigh. Water was ever a problem with men, but one thye had learned to deal with. As the boy turned to him, he smiled, "Next we will learn some basic weaves."

Resolute grinned finnaly he was to learn more. He was indeed eager to learn this. Finally he was moving up the ladder towards becoming a Dedicated, and then finally an Asha'man. Wiht a sense of eager anticipation he turned his attaentions ot Garnian Asha'man once more.

As Resolute finished his weaves, Garnain Asha'man looked pleased to say the least. Especially at his Fire. "Next we will learn some basic weaves."

Resolute grinned at last he was learning something useful something that would make him an Asha'man. First Garnian wove Fire into a ball of fire that could be used as a lantern or for throwing. Resolute tried to replicate the weave, his Fire was to strong, and he lost control. It was a few moments before Garnian extingushed the weave.

"Again." He said. Resolute nodded and after a few more tries he managed to control the weae of Fire. Next, came Lightning. Fire and Air together colesced into lighting. When Resolute tried it, he missed and hit a nearby vase. Shattering it. "Again." was once more all he heard. It took several more tries this time, before he managed to control the Air sufficientyl to make it do what he wanted. But it would now...most of the time.

Garnian smiled as the boy lost control of his Fire in overzealousness. It was not the first time he had seen a Soldier do that, but perhaps the first with this much ability when he lost it. Garnian hd to help him out with that one. Then Lighting as well.

"Next." He said calmly, "I shall show you something."

for a moment Resolute wonderd if it could be Earthfire....Resolute had heard of this legendary weapon of the Asha'man. Dumais Wells was the story that came to mind. One hundred or so Asha'man came after The Dragon Reborn with Mazrim Taim at their head. Together they fought the Shaido Aiel and rescued the Dragon from Elaida's clutches. Earthfire had been what they used against the Shaido. Fire erupting from the ground as the ground itself shook and exploded. Resolute turned eagerly to his mentor.

Garnian seized Saidin, allowing himself to combat it for a moment before he began weaving. It was a simple weave, but i required control of the power. It was made of pure spirit, a glowing Shield. It was hard to learn and handle but it would allow him to test the boys Spirit stregth.

Resolute nodded at his mentors words, He channeled. A pure flow of purple. surounding an imaginary target. He wonderd idly what it was for. It did not have real propertys like Air or Fire. It was Spirit after all. As his mind drifted, he suddenly found he lost his hold on the Shield. With a slip he lost it and it collapsed. Resolute felt his cheecks heating up, and with a sigh, he channeled again this time making sure not to lose control of his focus...And held it until Garnian order him to release it.

"Tell me when you channel do you have sudden urges to channel a certain way? If you do, try it now."

Resolute nodded he had felt one once. As he seised Saidin, he wove Fire, Air ,Earth, and a slgith amount of water and something happened. A Straigth blade made of Fire exteneded from his hand. Resolute tied of the weave, and it remained. "Whats this Garnian Asha'man?"

Garnian gave a start when the boy created his sword. "Whats this Garnian Asha'man?"

Garnian turned to the boy, "It is called Materialisation, it is one of your talents. With it you can from things of nothing with the Power, like that sword and use them as if they were real, because they are."

The boy nodded, and Garnian finished, "I beleive that is enough for today, you are progressing quickly I look forward to seeing your future." With a gesture he sent the boy out of the room to his quarters.
