((OOC: Very ironic ending, there :P))

Sapphira waited for Edeleaas' next question and was surprised when, again, it had very little to do with previous topis of conversation. She was surprised at his bluntness, as well, and her first thought was that he believed in the Black Ajah. She realized that he had said no such thing, though, and wondered where he was going. It was rather refreshing to talk to someone so open about the exhistence of Darkfriends, few but Reds were willing to do so, after all. She nodded, certainly she was not about to disuade his desire to rid the world of Darkfriends. Sapphira did not mention the fact that there was always the possibility that Rand was not yet finished with the Last Battle. The world that he had gone to, none had visited since he left, and no one really knew how time passed there. Perhaps he had finished the day he left, in this world, or maybe he was still battling. No one knew how long the Battle would take. Sapphira had, many times, as a Red hoped that he was not yet finished. Certainly the world was little better off now than it had been before. Of course, if it was over, then he certainly had not lost, for the Dark One had not yet overrun the world. It was not something she thought about often, partly because she had never seen the days of the Dragon Reborn- as some of the oldest sisters had -and partly because she did not always like the direction her thoughts took.

She shook her thoughts off, and returned her thoughts, yet again, to the Dedicated before her. "I am glad that you want to help rid the world of those beasts," she said, unable to keep the loathing out of her voice. "It is refreshing to see an initiate with a desire to further Rand al'Thor's work. Certainly if we do not all do our part, all that he did during his time here will be lost." She hoped that the young man did not lose his desire to do the Light's work as he grew older, and was raised. Too many Asha'man and Aes Sedai focused too much on their own goals, and those of their Ajah, rather than the work always necessary against the Shadow. Only the Reds focused only on destroying the Dark One's minions, and she had thanked the Light for their dedication many times over her years. Sapphira knew that since earning the staff and stole, she had focused more on the Tower, its goals, and her responsibilities as Amyrlin, some would say that there was no way that was not the work of the Light, but she had seen how easy it was to get side-tracked. She no longer saw Zekieal nearly as much as she had, and she missed her friend and partner in the Red greatly, she had come to associate the work of the Light with his presence. Of course, she could work on her own, but she always found it so much easier when the M'hael was present. She wondered how those who now got to work closely with him could not share his zeal for the work of the Light. Odd as he was, he was very much bent on keeping his Tower pure and free from Darkfriends, impossible though that was.

Asha'man al'Dieb Cha, Lost during the War
(( and here it's more ironical than ever. :D ))

"I am glad that you want to help rid the world of those beasts. It is refreshing to see an initiate with a desire to further Rand al'Thor's work. Certainly if we do not all do our part, all that he did during his time here will be lost." the Amyrlin answered in a hard voice. Edeleas gave her an uneasy glance; he thought he had said something displeasing again, but that was just the natural hostility of both Asha'man and Aes Sedai toward darkfriends. Edeleas gave his glasses a push, his thoughts onto his future, when he would be Asha'man, some five to twenty years from now. Yes, as a channeler he would definitely do what the M'Hael asked of him, and help the Dragon and the Light in this very important battle against evil. He would be Dieb Cha by then, and, he would also be finished with his journey to...

"Like you said, Mother, we all have to do our part." Edeleas answered. "You might think I'm overzealous, but there you are. Mother, sometimes I had read about one of Lillen Moiral's - Moghedien - discoveries. She had once written a paper that it was possible to turn a person to the Shadow against his will, when you surround him with a circle to thirteen Fades and thirteen channelers. If it would be all right, Mother...once that happens, would it be possible for the person to return to the Light? Is there any such known way to sever the...the Dark One's hold on his soul? Because, I was wondering, if I was Asha'man already and would meet such a person, and If I know that he's willing to return back to the Light, I would help him to the best I could."

((OOC: I'm pretty sure it says somewhere how to turn someone back, but I couldn't find it, sorry.))

Sapphira waited for him to say something else, wondering what he would say next. She could not suppress a small smile when Edeleas said he may be overzealous, Sapphira may not be Red any longer, but she was still very passionate about destroying Darkfriends. Sapphira did not think it was likely that she would find someone outside of the Red- or maybe even within it -who she thought was overzealous. She was, in fact, quite glad to see that another of the Shens had at least one person who very much wanted to destroy the Shadow. Sapphira did not have long to wait before Edeleas asked another question. He seemed a bit nervous about this one, though it was certainly a good question. She thought for a moment about how to answer, and whether to impart such knowledge into one of the Dedicated. Of course, he would find out once he was raised, but there was quite a lot of knowledge that the Accepted could not learn until they earned the shawl. She thought that it would be alright, the young man seemed merely curious, and as if he wanted to help. In the back of her mind, Sapphira realized she felt some small suspicion about this boy, why would one of the Dedicated wonder about such a thing unless he had thoughts of turning someone to the Shadow? Sapphira looked Edeleas over, he looked innocent enough, but she knew appearance was not enough to go on.

Then again, if he is a Darkfriend, Sapphira shivered imperceptibly at the thought, then perhaps he could see the ability to change someone back as a threat. Sapphira made up her mind, she would tell him, though she still hated to think that she might be telling this to someone Shadowsworn, even if he would find out within a few years. More than that, though, she hated to think that there was any possibility that this kind young man could be sworn to the Shadow. She pushed those thoughts away, she had no reason to think such things about this boy other than his question, which could be innocently explained by his self-proclaimed curiosity. "Yes, it is possible to return someone to the Light, but it is not easy by any definition of the word," Sapphira began, but could not bring herself to share the secret of how it was done. "How, though, is something you must wait for your raising to learn." The young man would understand that, doubtless he had come across things he wanted to know in the past that were hidden from anyone not yet Aes Sedai, Asha'man or Gaidin. She hoped, though, that he would not be overly disappointed by her answer. She remembered from her own time as Accepted how difficult it was to discover that you could not learn something you very much wished to until after a raising. She did not know how far away from his raising Edeleas was, though, perhaps he would be raised in a few weeks, or maybe it would be years yet.

((ooc - thanks for RPing with me, Mother! :hug ))

Edeleas suppressed a sigh of disappointment at the Amyrlin's answer. But, of course, he would have to wait until his raising to find out, and it only made him want to earn his Dragon Pin earlier. But then, he sure had to thank the Amyrlin Seat for bearing with him this long, though. He gave his glasses a push and smiled at the Aes Sedai, inclining his head politely. But I wouldn't put it past her not to suspect me as Darkfriend, but I know it's only natural, she's a former Red. I will just have to earn her trust then, starting now. "Thank you very much for bearing with me, Mother. And thank you for berating me earlier, I really did seem to need that myself. I had a very good time chatting with you; truly I did -" He was cut off abruptly as the chimes tolled loud, signally the end of the free time for Accepted, Youngling and Dedicated. This was it; it was over, and he had to immerse himself once more in his chores and lessons. He returned to the Amyrlin once again, swallowing nervously, he stood up and took her hands, then started bowing.

"Thank you very much, Mother, I will not forget this." He said earnestly. And then he cautiously let go of her hands. She did seem surprised at the gesture, but he hoped she wasn't offended or anything. "I have to go - you know, classes and stuff. But thank you again, it was such a splendid chat. I look forward to the next time we chat again! Truly, I do!" So saying, Edeleas turned and bolted, dashing as fast as he could out of the Tower Ground and back toward the fortress that was the Black Tower. He made it in the nick of time, just an exact minute before the doors slammed shut on his face. Then he proceeded to the Training Halls, and an inquiring Asha'man Rialt met him, wondering about the huge smile on his lips.

Sapphira knew that Edeleas would have to get back to his chores or classes soon, the second tier initiates of the Towers were all on the same schedule as far as free time went, though other than that many of them had their own individual schedules. Edeleas recognized his need to leave too, for he soon began to thank Sapphira for her time, and even for her lecture. Edeleas was cut off as the bells began to chime, sounding that the young man would be late if he did not hurry. Sapphira was a bit surprised when he took her hands- she worked hard to be approachable, but initiates rarely touched her -and thanked her once more. He said that he would not forget their talk, but that he had to leave, and looked forward to another such instance. Sapphira watched as the black-clad boy ran off across the grounds, hurrying to the Black Tower to avoid the punishment that tardiness would result in. Sapphira allowed herself a smile as she watched him run off, as well as the small flurry of activity as several other Dedicated, Accepted and Youngling made their ways quickly to wherever they were assigned. The second tier had fewer chores, but they all had to study, and tardiness was not so lightly tolerated from them as it was for the first tiers- and from them it was something they tried to avoid.

Sapphira wondered whether she would ever meet that Dedicated again, and if she did, would he still be Dedicated? Sapphira was more likely to talk with an Asha'man than one of the Dedicated. Sapphira thought she should get back to her own work, before she remembered that she had already finished for the day. She looked around for a moment before standing again, and continuing the walk she had interrupted for that unhappy Dedicated. Well, he had been unhappy at the time, anyway, Sapphira was glad that she seemed to have helped brighten his day. She was still unsure what to do with the rest of hers, though, and kept walking aimlessly, simply glad that she had no paperwork- she would prefer slight boredom over paperwork most any day.
