High Queen & Chancellor Posts: 3,158 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: August 23, 2004	The War in the Westlands The Golden Alliance: Illian, Altara, Amadicia and Tarabon, Ghealdan The Alliance of Four: Andor, Cairhien, Tear, and Murandy The Westlands have gone 100 years with out a major war; yes there have been small skirmishes between the many nations dotting the continent. The Trolloc wars, the Aiel War the Seanchan war in the south have long been forgotten by most people. Only legends remain of them out side of Tar Valon. But soon there will be a war unlike any other; men will die upon the thousands for no reason other than disjointed economies. The peoples of the world have grown restless with there stagnant economies. No new markets have opened up for at least 50 years and the people blame other nations for this. The kings and queens have sensed the unsteady feelings of their people and have decided to reach out to those nations closest to them for allegiance. Andor, Cairhien and Tear have made a powerful alliance with Murandy soon joining them. They have come to an agreement; if one nation falls into war with a nation out side the alliance they would all declare war on that nation. And thus the ground works for the Great War have started to shape. Illian, Altara, Amadicia, Ghealdan and Tarabon have created an alliance unlike any other. There armies have merged into one under a man named Trav, Lord General of the Golden Alliance, he masters the strongest army ever formed. The nations have total control over their armies… until war breaks out. The Lord General will only have to appear listen to the kings and queens, while taking or leaving their suggestions as he see’s fit. Illian is in a crisis. The coffers are almost empty and there is almost nothing they can do to fix that. They look to Tear and see them prospering due to the oil they produce from their olive farms they sell it to the Sea Folk who then sell it for more to the Seanchan and Shara. The money shortage was in part caused by the failing fishing industry. After thousands of years of prosperity in that enterprise, the fish have almost disappeared, thus creating a serious lack of revenue. This has also caused the people to starve. Illian also looks at Tear’s Grain, but Tear refuses to sell to Illian due to their History and the need to feed their own Nation first and foremost. Fed up with the many failed negotiations with Tear, Illian has called upon its people to form a massive army. Thousands and thousands of able bodied men have heeded the call to arms and they will soon march on Tear. The Alliance of Four didn't stand idly by for they soon declared war on Illian sparking the Golden alliance into action. Arad Doman seeing a chance to attack and gain Almoth Plains has sided with the Alliance of Four making the borderlands and Mayene the only nations not involved with the war. The war to end all wars has started, Tar Valon stands on the out side of the world looking in with shock and horror, the rapid way that this turn of events unfolded ripping away any possibility for the Towers to stop it before it started. Hasty bargaining and settlements are being made and attempted by ambassadors from both the Black Tower and the White Tower, but with men who are not interesting in talking any longer. Trav is none other than the demon Forsaken named Aisha. For decades the towers have known about him but have never been able to pin point his location. This turn of events has galvanized the Two Towers and have sided them with the Alliance of four. Aisha has total control over the Golden Alliance their generals under him have sworn their loyalty to him above and beyond that of their kings.
