'Ello everyone. This week has pretty much been moving the generator from its own separate program to the main game. I first transferred the noise algorithms while making numerous changes to how chunks are handled. After fixing a bunch of bugs, I moved on to transferring lighting calculations to the main program. While transferring them, I gave them a makeover so that they are now 250% faster, but use 80% less code. In all, the game can now generate 1 megachunk (11 x 11 chunk region) in under a second compared to the generator's old program of taking a little over a minute to do. Over this next week, there is still some clean-up I need to do from the transfer. I also need to work on threading some more so that chunks can be loaded/saved/updated independently of the main game loop (so that chunk operations dont cause lag). After that, it will simply be a matter of reactivating and updating most of the player systems I had to disable for the transfer. Till next week
