Title: Fluidity Genre: Physics/puzzle/collectathon Developers: Curve Studios Platform: WiiWare (1200 Points) Release Date: December 6, 2010 Story A bottle of magical death ink has spilled upon a table in an undefined land. You proceed to find out that this book is magical, and that water solves all problems. You are therefore turned into water, and told to magically clean the magical ink from the magical book by magically collecting magical Rainbow Drops. Eh, kinda pointless, but better than alot of games nowadays. 8/10 Gameplay The point of the game is to collect Rainbow Drops by solving puzzles and killing ink-slugs and ink-bats by splashing them with water, crushing them with ice, or zapping them with lightning. There are three forms in which you play throughout the game, which include, naturally, the three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. In water form, you can splash around, going through waterwheels and carrying items along with you. You can activate switches that are in the form of buoys. In ice form, you slide around and crush enemies, and not far into the game, you get the ability to cling to walls and jump off of them. You can activate switches in the form of pressure plates. In gas cloud form, you can float around, even up and down at will, use suction to carry balloons with you, use gusts of air to discombobulate enemies, then zap them with lightning. You can activate switches in the form of lightning rods. It's a very unique style of gameplay, overall. Each time you collect a Rainbow drop, you leave the level and start again at the beginning to search for another one. It's similar in style to Super Mario 64 in this respect. 9/10 Controls This game uses the Wii Remote on its side. The basic controls for water and ice are tilting the Wii Remote to tilt the entire world, causing the water/ice to move downhill, and shaking to jump. In gas form, you tilt the Remote whatever direction you want to go, and shaking allows you to turn into water wherever you want. The controls are very easy to get used to, and they don't get in the way at all. 10/10 Graphics and Music The graphics for this game aren't great, but then again, aren't terrible either. For the style of game, I think that it works pretty well, so I'll give it a 3/5. Music for this game is simple, slightly repetitive, but non-intrusive. It's not very memorable, so this portion gets a 3/5 as well. (6/10 for this section.) Difficulty Curve This game starts out easy, and does not really get too difficult, however it does get a bit obnoxious at times. It's fairly balanced, though, so I'll give this a 7/10. Final score After taking all these into consideration, the final score is... 40/50 or 8/10 Final thoughts I really enjoy Fluidity. It's a nice change from pretty much any genre that you'd play. I've not quite beaten it yet, but I plan to in the future. I recommend each of you to buy this game if you haven't. |

Photobucket is garbage and wants me to pay money to use my own images here all of the sudden (even though it was never an issue for years).
See if I ever use Photobucket for anything ever again.
