This is The Water Waka, bringing a review of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Since there's a version of it on Wii, PS2, PS3, XBOX360, DS, PSP, iOS, and PC, to avoid confusion, I will be reviewing the iOS version, Puzzle Quest HD. Gameplay: Movement from location to location is easy as tapping on the location, tapping on somewhere means that you will be tapping on that exact location, the controls are responsive, and if you make a mistake, you can only blame yourself, not the game. However, it is a bit repetitve, but it still works. 9/10 Graphics: The game looks stunning (it's in HD of course), and absolutely nothing looks blurry or unrecognizable. The art style is a sight to behold, and it fits the medieval theme of the game nicely. 10/10 Music: The soundtrack has a few standouts, but most of the soundtrack isn't very memorable. Sure, some songs like the Boss Theme and the Queen of Bartonia's Theme are memorable and catchy, the rest of the soundtrack for the most part isn't very memorable. 5/10 Plot: The story has you battling off the undead, as they have been awakened by Lord Bane. ...That's it. The plot isn't that great, and leaves much to be desired. 3/10 Replayability: Oh boy, this is where the game shines. The game has a TON to offer, whether it be crafting equipment, capturing beasts, conquering citadels, doing the countless sidequestsor training mounts, this game will have you playing it A LOT. The game is also a good length, at 5-10 hours for veterans, and 20+ hours for beginners (sidequests not included in both). 10/10 All in all, this is a fantastic game, but it has its share of flaws. If you can overlook them, you have one heckuva game. I am The Water Waka, and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is my favorite video game of all time. |

This is a pretty good review Water Waka. And Yeah I agree with you on the music thing. Although if you play the game a lot then the non memorable sofa get irritating to listen to over and over again. Especially the ones that loop in the puzzle boards. |

Thanks! The only other memorable song to me is Drong's theme. |

Your favorite video game ever gets a score of 7.4 out of 10? Something's wrong with this picture. |

There's a difference between "favorite game" and "best game". Just because a game is your favorite, doesn't mean it's the best game in the world. |

I'm well aware of the difference, Michelle, however, saying that an average game is your favorite game in the whole world just makes you look like you have bad tastes.

By my standards, 7 is average. With this game, there are obvious flaws, but what is does right, it does spectacularly. |

That's the problem with the 10 point grading scale. Most numbers below five are simply superfluous. Also. MP, I see no problem with a game that you wouldn't give a 9 or a 10 being one's favorite game. I mean, I would only give Radiata Stories a 3/5, but I still know people who have it as their favorite game. You can recognize a game as mediocre and still love it. It all depends on what you like about the game(s). |

I'm not saying that it never happens, or shouldn't. I'm just saying it makes one look like they have bad tastes. |

I love how you guys are debating about eyelids right now. Can someone say "non sequitur?" In all seriousness though, reviews are supposed to help someone decide if they should buy a game or not. You're not helping at all if you don't add any pics. |

Yeah, because you didn't put pictures in this, I'm never going to get this game. YOU RUINED IT FOR ME. That's honestly some dumb logic there, Dragon. |

No, that's not even close to what I was saying. I'm saying that this review won't help people make a decision on whether or not to get this game. Screenshots would change this.

Pictures do help to make the review a LOT better, so you're not reading a giant wall of text, this one isn't so bad though since it's not very long. I wouldn't say it's a good review. Why? Because I still have no idea what this game is about. You basically just told me Lord Bane is the bad guy it's in medieval times and it must have something to do with puzzles because that's in the title. I seriously still have no idea what the game is about, Maybe in the Gameplay section you could add bits about what the game is, and what you do in each level etc... Not trying to be mean just giving some constructive criticism

Photobucket is garbage and wants me to pay money to use my own images here all of the sudden (even though it was never an issue for years).
See if I ever use Photobucket for anything ever again.
