Monster Hunter Tri is a wonderful game for the Nintendo Wii. With its combination of so many different elements, this fantastic game captured me at the first fight.

GAME PLAY:
This games game play is pretty high up there in what everyone wants in any game. It controls crisply, without removing that realistic movement feel. If u turn around, u don't just instantly turn around, you actually have to make a complete circle. While such a thing may seem like a small detail, it adds to the realistic element of the game, it also adds a new element to dodging, you can't just run away, u have to enter every battle with a plan, or else you will have no chance of winning. Every boss in this game requires a unique strategy in order to defeat it, if you plan on just hitting every boss in the same way, you will probably end up dying in 1-2minutes. Every boss has a weakness to a different element, and a different weak spot. Some bosses are so strong, that you have to hit their weak spot to deal any damage at all. This game is not only boss heavy, but it has a unique weapons system. You can choose from a fairly wide range of weapons including the nimble but weak sword shield combo, the slow but both defensive and offensive great sword, and many others. The weapons cannot simply be purchased, this game makes you work for your power ups! Weapons and armor can be crafted out of various parts that are carved out of the corpses of the foes you slay, and a variety if different rare ores. The village that you live in has many different applications that will help you fight bosses, collect resources, or slay monsters. Some examples, when you eat a meal before a quest i fight, it will give you various stat bonuses, there is a farm that you can utilize in order to mass produce necessary resources, u can combine items to make more powerful items, and use them to fight heal, or buff yourself. There are so many game play concepts, that the only thing i can fault it on is being TOO complex. thus i give this game play, a 9.8/10

GRAPHICS:
The only thing that i can say about this games graphics, by wii standards, ITS BEAUTIFUL. Every area that you travel to has not only a beautiful foreground, but even the backrgounds are well though out. The animations for hitting the various monsters is smooth, accurate with a blood effect, and when an attack is deflected, your character has an accurate recoiling animation.

However, there is one very bad graphical glitch, if you manage to KO but not kill any monster who has a death animation that are the same, after knocking it out, and then killing it, while it will count as a kill, the monster will proceed to get up and run away. That aside the graphics are very well done: 9.5/10

MUSIC:
For how amazingly this game has proven itself in other departments, I was generally disappointed by the lack of musical variation. Only 3 bosses in the game out of more than 30 have unique music. The music is determined by what area that you fight the boss in, rather than what boss you are fighting. While i realize that this would require a lot of music that may only be used once, it would have been a nice touch to add to the game. The main music is nothing that great either, until later areas at least: 8.7/10

PLOT:
The game has a very straight forward plot. Some monster is causing earthquakes that are messing up the village that you live in, you are the one who has stop it. Simple. HOWEVER, there is a minor subplot involving the monster hunter guild, it builds up to you fighting the monster causing the earthquakes. However, once it is dead, the earthquakes continue, and you find out there is another monster causing the earthquakes, a small and simple plot twist? yes, however it adds to the mood of the game, and makes it feel like you accomplished next to nothing, until you defeat this new threat.: 9/10

LIFE TIME:
If you ever plan on getting 100% in this game, be prepared to devote time, blood, sweat, and tears. This game involves countless game hours and most likely lots of fails on certain missions. But, no matter how long this game is, it is pure fun to the bitter end. The replay value is not the greatest due to the length, also the fact that you are able to replay your favorite missions. They add to the lifetime with continuous online updates, and additional multi-player missions. Even if you become bored with this game, its always worth a revisit, you will often become hooked to it again:9.5/10

OVERALL:
This game never fails to amaze me every time that i hit the power button. Possibly my favorite wii game, no game is perfect, but in my own humble opinion, this is almost as close as it gets. FINAL SCORE : 9.5/10

Nice review person I have not met before.

A suggestion I would have is to have a few links to the music tracks on youtube.

Well, since it's at least partially relevant, Capcom released an updated re-release of this game for the Wii U and 3DS, renaming it Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

...And since it's basically the same game for the most part, I'll give my thoughts.

When I first played the demo to this game, I got my ass kicked. This game does not mess around. You have to be at the top of your game for some of these monsters. At one point, you're even introduced to Subspecies of existing monsters, rocking additional attacks, and some of them having some sort of elemental affinity to them, like Poison. You really have to play defensively, you will not win if you just hack and slash. However, when you finally deliver that final blow to a monster, you feel like a complete badass, which is always a good thing in a game.

I really like the variety of weapons you're offered in this game. My personal favorites are the Long Sword, the Hammer, and the Bow. They all cater to various different gameplay styles. Do you want to be incredibly powerful, regardless of how slow you are as a result? You'll like the Great Sword. Do you want to be more of a supporter character that helps out their group while fighting? The Hunting Horn is right up your alley. Do you want a variety of ammunition that you can use to cause different effects on the monster while you attack it? The 2 different Bowguns, or the Bow are perfect for you. This really adds to the replay value, because after you master one weapon, you can go back and give the other weapons a shot.

My only genuine issues with this game are rather minor. For one, grinding can be really annoying depending on what Monster you need to grind materials from. Since these battles can range from 10-20 minutes, grinding materials from the same monster over and over can get boring after a while. You can fight these monsters online in multiplayer to make them easier, but they still last about 5-10 minutes, and it gets boring after you kill the same monster the 4th time. But since killing these monsters is essentially the sole point of the game, I can't give it too much flak for that. Also, if you plan on getting the 3DS Version, I would highly recommend getting a Circle Pad Pro, as well. The camera controls are really awkward without a second analog stick. The game does give you a digital d-pad on the touch screen that works reasonably well, but it just isn't the same.

Overall, this game is really fun and addicting. I've clocked in over 100 hours on my file. I would greatly recommend it to anyone who's in for a challenge.

Also, just an FYI: They're shutting down Tri's servers soon, so if you want to keep playing online, you're going to have to get a Wii U and start all over, which kinda sucks.
