I have no idea how I first got this game. I think it once belonged to the daughter of one of my mom's friends, and she gave it to me for some reason, but that's beside the point. Today, I will tell you, of Donkey Kong '94, a Gameboy reimagining of the original Arcade game.

Story: This game at first emulates the gripping tale of the original arcade game; Giant Monkey is all like "DOOD I'MMA BE TAKIN YO GURL TO CONSTRUCTION PLACE K?K.", and then Mr. Mario/Jumpman/Carl is all like "AY I KNOW YOU AIN'T TAKIN' MAH FINE LADY TO THAT AREA WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND SUCH.", and then Mario chases Donkey Kong to the construction site, and beats him. BUT WAIT. Instead of ending off right there, Donkey Kong is all like "OH SNAP YOU THOUGHT I WAS DONE LAWLNOPE NOW I'MMA BE TAKIN YO DAME TO THE CITY AND OTHER PLACES.", and Mario's like "AW SHEEEEEEEEEYET NOW I GOTTA CHASE THE MONKEY TO THE CITY AND OTHER PLACES TO SAVE THAT LADY WHO MAY OR MAY NOT BE MY GIRLFRIEND CONSIDERING IT'S NEVER REALLY SET IN STONE." I think you can judge the story based on my description. Please note that in the game, none of the characters talk like douchebags.

Gameplay: This game starts almost just like the Arcade version, but after the first 4 stages, the game becomes a Puzzle Platformer, in which your goal is to grab a key, and take it to a door within that same level. The main challenge of this game comes from the various objects you must utilize to not only get to the key, but to get to the door. Mario controls very well in this game. Jumping is done with............................................................................................Oh, the A button, that's right. You press the B button to grab things while on top of them. You also have a wide variety of jumps at your disposal. You can do a backflip by jumping as you turn from one direction to the other. You can do a handstand by jumping while ducking, and if you jump as soon as you hit the ground, you can do a double jump, and if you jump as soon as you hit the ground again, you'll do a Triple Jump. Believe it or not, with the right amount of skill, one can use these moves to burn through levels in literally seconds. This makes the game very fun to speed run. The control can be a bit stiff at times, but that's it, really. Also I'm not too big a fan of one-hit deaths, but in this case, the enemies aren't placed in cheap locations, IT'S DEFINITELY BETTER THAN MARIO VS. DONKEY KONG. But on to more relevant matters, this game controls well, and the various ways you can blast through levels really adds to the Replay Value (Which I am now merging with the Gameplay, just so ya know.)

Graphics: This is a rather strange game when it comes to the graphics. This game was apparently released alongside the Super Gameboy, which is basically an add-on that allowed one to play Gameboy games on their SNES. Some games displayed a special border in addition to enhanced color when played on the Super Gameboy, such as Pokemon Red & Blue, Mole Mania, and this game.

In terms of the actual graphics, this game looks nice. The sprites animate relatively fluently, and the backgrounds look rather nice. Overall, this game looks good for Gameboy standards.

Soundtrack: This game has an overall good soundtrack. There are a few forgettable tracks, but there are some pretty catchy songs in this game.

Escape!

Overworld 5

Desert

Showdown at the Tower

And I think you can judge the OST from that alone.

OVERALL: Donkey Kong '94 is a purdy good game to have for your portable gaming device. You can get it for your 3DS on the eShop thingermabob, or you can go on that eBay whatchamacallit and get an old cartridge if you're one of those stingy collector types. In the end, it's a good game.

It was so good they remade the game into what's currently known as the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.

Not if the opinion was a fact and the other fact was invalid.

You said that they remade it because it was good. They might have remade it because it was bad.
