This is one of those games you'd expect Fievel to review. Considering, well...I only got this game on account of his recommendation. This is Mole Mania. A game, about Moles in a frenzy-like Mania. PLAYABLE ONLY BY THOSE WITH PORTABLE POWER. OR THE eSHOP.

Story: One day, the Evil farmer named Jinbe decided to kidnap Muddy Mole's family. When Muddy found this out, he was all like "AH HEEEEELLLLL NO." And went to save his wife and children. That's it.........ON TO THE NEXT SE--

Gameplay: Mole Mania is a puzzle game where you play as Muddy Mole and travel through 7 worlds in order to save your children. All throughout these levels are singular rooms in which you must guide a ball to a barrier in order to proceed to the next room. You press the A button to have Muddy dig underground. Digging underground is used very often to have Muddy maneuver under objects that would block him above ground. Pressing the B button will have Muddy grab whatever's directly in front of him. While holding something, you can push, pull (considering the object you're holding isn't a weight), or you can hold B to have Muddy charge up his strength for a Super Throw. Once you've fully charged a Super Throw, pressing forward or backwards will have Muddy throw the object in a straight line in either direction until it hits a wall or falls in a hole. As you progress through each level, the game will gradually introduce you to new game mechanics, such as the previously mentioned weights that can only be pushed, not pulled, and act as walls, and pipes that cause any object thrown through them to change direction. In addition to the puzzles you must solve as the game goes on, there are also points that must be earned. Throughout each stage, there will be 20 Cabbages, each of which you must move into a hole to gain 1 point in the level. There are also two items you must obtain for 20 points each; The Map, and the Locator, both of these items are found underground. You also get 20 points for visiting every room in the level. The Final 20 points you obtain for finding and completing the STUPID AND RETARDED BONUS LEVELS THAT ARE FREAKING STUPID AND DUMB. Ahem...Overall, very good gameplay.

Replay Value, on the other hand, is really eh. You're only going to play this game again if you really really really liked it. 100%-ing the game doesn't unlock anything, so there's really no point to it.

Graphics: This game would look pretty average for a Gameboy game, but this game has one thing that not many other Gameboy games have, personality. Whenever you try to dig through solid rock or something you can't dig through, Muddy bonks his head on the ground, and it's really funny. There are other instances like this, the most notable ones being the cutscenes that play after saving all the Mole Kids. This game looks really good just because of the added Charm.

Soundtrack: This game has some pretty good songs....that's it. LIST TIME.

Forest

Beach

Pipe Maze

Overall: Mole Mania is pretty darn good. The game actually makes you think a lot in some areas, and has very few flaws. (BONUS STAGESJAFIEWOPJDSKLFJASKDLFJS) This game runs cheap on the eShop, but it's in Black and White, despite the fact that it had Super Gameboy support, so unless you really care that much about the game being in color, you can get it easily on your 3DS. I really don't get why they don't do that with Gameboy games on the eShop, to be honest. So yeah. BUY IT IF IT INTERESTS YOU.

Shaken, not stirred.
I did some of those later bonus levels on my first or second try. They're not that bad.
