(boring preamble)RHYTHM HEAVEN FEVER![]() Plot: lol ![]() Gameplay: Rhythm Heaven Fever is a Music/Rhythm game (at least I think it is, that title is kinda ambiguous). In it, you play small, 2-3 minute Rhythm games, all of which have simple controls. All of them use the A and B buttons on the Wii Remote, nothing else. The game has 28 unique minigames, all of which are divided into 7 "Sets". in each Set, you complete 4 of these games by doing well enough to earn an "OK" rating on them. At the end of each Set, you play a Remix level. In these Remix Levels, you play a compilation of the 4 games you had just previously played, but to a unique song with a set theme to it, like Tropical, or Traditional Japanese. If you do well enough on a game, you can earn a "Superb!" rating on it, which gets you a Medal. Medals are used to unlock special Endless Games or Rhythm Toys. The game overall has a good difficulty curve. It's easy earlier on, but gets gradually harder as you move along. There may be the occasional game that just gives you a lot of trouble, but it varies from person to person. One thing that frustrates me however is "Perfecting" a game. You'd think perfecting a game would be as simple as not messing up at all. It is! But there's a catch. The game only allows you to Perfect a game when it tells you to. Basically, there are moments when the game prompts you get a Perfect on a specific game. Getting a Perfect on a game only counts during these specific moments. This is honestly just annoying because you're perfectly capable of getting a Perfect on a stage on your first attempt, but because the game didn't specifically tell you to, it doesn't count. This isn't that big an issue, but it's not quite worthy of being considered a nitpick in my book. Other than this however, this game is very fun and satisfying to play! Graphics: I really like this game's art-style. Everything has a clean, hand-drawn look to it, and some games switch things up a bit, like the Traditional Japanese style in "Samurai Slice". ![]() Soundtrack: This is a music game, so this is one occasion where Music is almost, if not just as important as the gameplay. Just gonna let you know, this game has really good music. Most of the songs are catchy enough, some moreso than others, and all of them match the rhythm of the games. This game also has some good Vocal Tracks. Some people prefer the versions of these songs present in the Japanese version of this game, but I personally don't have much preference between the two. I'll put both versions in my list just for you. Exhibition Match Bossa Nova Packing Pests Lonely Storm | Karate Man (JAP Version) I Love You, My One And Only | Remix 8 (JAP Version) Beautiful, One Day | Remix 9 (JAP Version) Replay Value: This game is pretty fun to come back to. The songs are really catchy, and the gameplay is really fun. Overall: This game is really fun, and pretty overlooked. I haven't played any other Rhythm Heaven games, but judging from this one, they all must be worth a play. Since Wii games aren't exactly "obsolete" at this point, you can still find it easily in your local retailer, or online. |

Photobucket is garbage and wants me to pay money to use my own images here all of the sudden (even though it was never an issue for years).
See if I ever use Photobucket for anything ever again.
