So...I Guess it was time I gave this "Review" thing a shot so I thought of a game to review Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the GameCube/Wii my personal favorite of the trilogy.![]() Gameplay: Genre: First Person Shooter. (FPS) The gameplay is (mostly) unchanged from Metroid Prime...however a BIG change you will notice right away is the Scan Visor...it went though a great change the items you can scan are now NOT represented by orange and red squares they are now FULLY highlighted they are now color coded too! Blue scans are are pretty much unimportant things red scans are important to the plot scans and green scans are things you already scanned...other then that...the gameplay is still the same you have different powers, bosses, areas, and enemies it's the same. However the biggest change by far is the Dark World you see to beat the game you have to travel between a Dark world where just standing in it hurts you and a Light world the "normal" Metorid type world so back to the Dark world like I said you can't even STAND in it you have to go from light field to light field to survive. What are light fields? They are light energy spots that heal you when standing in them. As you can imagine they are EVERYWHERE...Which is good. Plot/Stroy: The game begins with Samus on Mission to Planet Aether to find the missing Galactic Federation Group: Bravo when she gets in Aether's atomosphere her ship is heavily damaged by a strange black and purple storm that has surrounded Aether's atmosphere she crash lands in the Temple Grounds a area on Planet Aether she finds a cavernous area where she finds several corpses of dead Galactic Federation Troopers she also finds a balck doppelgänger of herself entering a strange purple warp when Samus follows it she finds herself in a strange world with odd black four legged creatures with red eyes in the cliff up above and her doppelgänger in front however it shoots a crystal that causes the little amount of light in this world to shrink leaving her vulnerable to the dark world air and the creatures who proceed to steal her suit upgrades after some minutes of traveling she gets to the crash site of the Galactic Federation Squad Bravo and she finds a video of what happens to them they were ambushed by tinnier versions of those creatures who took her powers and every trooper was murdered by them after watching that she proceeds traveling on Aether where she finds the Great Temple where she is ambushed by those same creatures that murdered the troopers after defeating them she obtains a "unknown device" she also finds a Luminoth the creatures that inhabit the planet the Luminoth's name is U-Mos a Luminoth sentinel he proceeds to tell Samus that his race are at war with the Ing the same race that stole her power ups and the thing that created them a meteor that split the planted into two halfs a Dark half and a Light a have the Dark half is where the Ing live and that she must collect light energy that the Ing stole from the light world to save Aether. Graphics: The game look gorgeous. Everything is bright and colorful (well in the light world at least but in the dark world I don't find it that bad either.) everything looks smooth and nice and everything animates nicely too and overall it just looks great. The best area for showing the graphics is Sanctuary Fortress by far. Soundtrack: The game's not lacking in a good soundtrack too the game sounds really nice you can hear all the instruments and it sounds great here are some of my favorites. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9nRqlh1fk2E http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XuPJm2XQT0A&feature=relmfu http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VEVQ6JxQFr4 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZoLdJ2zahI http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p6OTbdgt_Ms http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=relmfu&v=7ZX2N9_7NO8 Overall:Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is defiantly worth your time and more them worthy of being the sequel to one of the best games ever. A 10/10. And that's my first review (it was pretty bad wasn't it?) hope you enjoyed it and positive or negative criticism is always wanted. Edited by DreamyBeachsideDream, Jan 14 2014, 05:22 PM.

Co-host of DOOM!

I really disagree with you. Everything is not bright and colourful; in fact, it's so dark and plain that it bores me. The game has also some of the worst music from the series, excluding Other M. And honestly, just from reading your review, I wouldn't expect a 10/10. You fail to really describe well what makes the game so great in your eyes. You should include some images and links to good music tracks. Overall, 6/10: good attempt, but keep working at it. Edited by Caped Godot, Sep 16 2013, 12:50 PM.

This game has some of the worst music in the franchise? Well...music is VERY opinionated so the fact that you dislike the music in this game...well...that's your opinion and I'm cool with that. The songs that I linked in my review are great to me. Also I kinda don't agree with the dark world looking boring. It's meant to be dark. Since when has dark really be exciting or interesting? It's darkness. There's not a lot you can do with it. Also this game doesn't really shine in my eyes. I just like it the most. It's that simple. Edited by DreamyBeachsideDream, Jan 31 2014, 10:36 PM.

Photobucket is garbage and wants me to pay money to use my own images here all of the sudden (even though it was never an issue for years).
See if I ever use Photobucket for anything ever again.
