Except you're forgetting about that person's friends and family who will want revenge. |

Ah, Lefty. Brilliant conclusion. What better way of attempting to eliminate international violence then proving to the world that we endorse it? And that is the end of your chain of logic, Chaos. Contradiction and paradox have been reached. The very thing you proposed to end has been perpetuated by your self-defeating means. I think we all can easily see that when we pursue an end by destructive means, the end must logically be destructive also. If we attempt to eradicate violence with violence, increased violence is the result. As overplayed and misused as it sounds, two wrongs literally do not make a right, they actually make things twice as wrong. Therefore, when pursuing an effective method of reducing terrorism and violence, we must not use terrorism or violence such as we have done. Joseph Stalin stated one of the most ignored truths in our modern world: that armies and coercive force fail when undermined by ideas. Ideas are much more potent weapons than anything man could concieve. It would follow, then, that education and reasoning would discourage terrorism more effectively, by proving to them logically that the methods they've been using AREN'T getting them any bit closer to their goal. |
