The worst for me is my 3D apps tutorials. The guy knows everything about 3D apps but is godawful at writing notes. And when said notes contain snippets of code you need to copy, it can be very problematic when the lecturer can't spell. |

I hate when teachers write notes in Word and print them on to clear sheets and then shine them through the projectors onto a board or something, I wish they would just goddamn give that handout. |

You still have to take general education courses. And they generally suck. |

No. Nearly all universities have a general education curriculum that you have to take. And I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with intelligence, since I can humbly say I'm considered "smart", and am taking GECs. I'd say I'm the smartest motherfucker here, but I don't know about Koopa. But he's asian, so everyone expects that. |

Being smart makes you realize the philosophy is rhetorical bullshit. Being smart makes you hate intro classes that just do a very basic overview of everything. Being smart does not make GECs fun. Also, Paulus, fuck you. Britain isn't real. edit: Being smart makes good classes fun, though. That's what matters. |

Wait a minute! Here comes the irrelevancy police! Did it pass through your meager brain that perhaps a smart person would realize that, instead of suffering through such unecessary classes, one could make them fun? I am surmising it did, because intro classes are useful for the simple fact that they allow you time to dick around and get credits for it too. The same with Philosophy, so long as your able to defend your point on any matter. Which, is, quite fun. Both dicking around and laying the smackdown on complete idiots. But I suppose, in your haste to make yourself cool and respected on the forum, you decided not to consider all the facts and then go into this little tirade with Cloudst. Which I garuntee you, you will not win. Your comment is to wit, irrelevant. |

Ahahaha. Do you actually think I care about being respected? Ask Paulus if I give a shit about any of your opinions. Here's what I do: I say what I want, and I don't care if you approve or not. I have absolutely no problem with arguing with anybody, and I get a hardon from it too. You can ask Paulus about that too. He knows. Have either of you taken college classes? The vast majority of them are not fun. They're mostly just memorization and listening to the lecturer. Did I say they aren't "useful"? Certainly not, because they are useful for solidifying your GPA. Yes they are easy. They are usually extremely easy. But that does not make them fun or enjoyable. I was interested in psychology, so I took Psych 100 as a GEC. It turned out to be a chore. It just skipped around random parts of psychological study and the tests were just memorization of the material. I didn't have to understand anything. I just had to memorize key words, different afflictions, etc. There was no continuity at all with the class. Yes, I did find some parts interesting, but the class as a whole was definitely not. And most GEC classes are the exact same way. |

Then stop defending yourself, or asking Paul to do so. Besides, you missed the point. If your GECs are a chore, you can only blame yourself. So far, I've talked about the Wii, mentioned a Mooninite bomb threat, corrected my teacher's spelling, and demonstrated how ninjas stick their fingers up each other's asses. I've got a 4.0. If you can't see the fun in that, I'll post endless youtube clips until you do, or have incesant diarrhea. (got a boner yet?) |

If I cared that you approve of what I would say, I would be a passive poster. And I'm not one. And no, I don't find those little "quirks" would make a dull class fun. You may find the classes fun, and that's entirely acceptable. Something being fun is entirely subjective. I'm just saying being smart does NOT make a class fun or interesting. Being smart, realistically, makes easy classes more dull and difficult classes more interesting. I'll take Math 571 over Math 050 any day. And are you taking college classes? If you're in high school, you can't really compare the two. edit: And yes, I've got a huge boner right now. It has to be at least 4 inches! |
