Name: Kolskeggr Bjornsson Genetics: Mortal Age: 25 Blood Type: A+ Appearance: ![]() Prime Deity: The entire Asgardian pantheon Occupation: Mortal Champion of the Asgardian Pantheon, Son of King Bjorn the One-Eyed Personality: Kolskeggr is a strong-willed young man, who desires above all to bring low the Roman Imperium for the injustice visited upon his people. He is a driven man who wades into battle with a grim rage surpassing that even the mightiest Asgardian berserkers. He knows his gods are with him despite the claims by the Romans that they have long since been vanquished, and he will prove it to them by tearing their armies apart. Special Traits: The only Asgardian to be directly touched by their gods, Kolskeggr is their mortal Champion. Each deity channels a small portion of their strength directly into him, granting him power enough to be the equal of even the mighty General Proteus. Lineage: Sigurd Legacy Traits: In addition to their divine aid, the gods bequeathed to Kolskeggr the legendary sword Balmung, a blade without peer, that was once wielded by his great ancestor, Sigurd. History: Kolskeggr Bjornsson was born a mortal man, but became something greater. As a child, he oft spent his evenings listening to the elder warriors tell tales of the olden times, which his people were great and didn't have to flee under the waves to avoid the Romans and their vast technologies and armies. Kolskeggr loved those stories and longed for the day when his people could be so free again. Like all Asgardian children, he has trained for battle from nearly the moment he could walk. Being the son of Jormungandr's King, Kolskeggr was driven by his family's honor to train even more intensely than the other children. Because of it, he grew to be a superbly skilled warrior, winning glory and honor on the battlefield in several raids, but it was never enough. He wasn't satisfied with simply taking what the other nations had to scrape by, but it pained him deeply that he couldn't do anything to better his people's situation. For years his hatred for the Romans and the injustice of their actions simmered in the back of his mind. He wondered how his gods could have forsaken their followers. One fateful day, however, he learned that the Asgardians had not been abandoned. A booming voice, powerful as the immovable Earth herself, spoke to him in his chambers aboard Sleipnir. The voice identified itself as the great and mighty Thunder God and revealed that his gods were not lost, though many of them had been taken captive. Thor explained that the gods knew their people's need was great, and that the gods wanted to help. They needed a Champion, a mortal who could channel their strength to stand toe-to-toe with the mightiest of foes. Kolskeggr accepted the gift without hesitation. |
