Hi all My name is Mal, I am in my mid 50s & I have been detecting for 2 1/2 years. Live in Melbourne and do not get out as often as I would like. I am 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Golden triuangle and best I can get out is about twice a month. Average is less than that. After a couple of pieces first day out with a hired detector and an instructor, I was a very long time in getting first gold (10 months) with my own detector but I had a good year last year. This year abysmal success to date but I love to get out in the bush with friends or by myself and any gold is an added bonus. I am fascinated with the relics found in the bush as well and I am also enjoying reading up on the history of the goldfields. Good prospecting to you all. regards Mal |
