Dug and Daisy here under Dugs log-in

Daisy is a nurse from Northern Ireland Dug is a systems analyst from New Zealand

We moved to Melbourne 3 years ago and fell in love with Australia
Wanting to get out and have at look at the country so I went to the library and grabbed some books one of which was about the old diggers
So that weekend we packed a picnic and followed the old diggers road to Creswick
we had a great day and saw a kangaroo in the wild for the first time.
We enjoyed it so much the following weekend another picnic was packed and off we went to Eldorado where we had a great day panning for gold (not really we didn't have a clue but it was fun) and we saw a big red belly black.
That was it we were hooked so I booked us in for a day with coiltek and low and behold I found a 0.6gm that day. That was the beginning of the end of life as we knew it.
The flash car got traded in for a 4 wheel drive, nights now were spent researching and drawing maps instead of watching telly.
The last year has been fantastic chasing gold (we have done pretty well for newbies) seeing all the animals and creatures in the bush (my favorite is the Gala)not sure about the spelling......But it is the people we have met that has made detecting the best hobby in existance.......(plus we have both lost weight with all the walking} So thankyou to all those lovely people we have met, and hello to all those yet to stumble upon in this great country.....
