Hi everyone. My name is Kath & I live in Geraldton. I go detecting whenever I can but do not do well!! My first beautiful nugget I found was at Tennant creek with a 1700 ...48 1/2 gms..but since then, over 7years, my largest is 5gm.In total I only have 22 nuggets!! Okay I know I wander too much...love the bush & being outdoors & the evenings sitting by the campfire, chatting, watching the stars, having tea & a wee drink. I am truly hooked with this detecting, love it, got to as I sure don't have a lot to show after all these years..BUT..gotta keep trying..WILL slow down this next trip!! WELL I SHALL try!!

Cheers,
Kath

Hi Findalot,
Many thanks for your welcome & I welcome you also.
Where are you from? What detector do you have?
The closest to Gero is Yalgoo approx 250klms.Some of the places we have been to include...Kalgoorlie, laverton, Marblebar,Menzies,Sandstone,mt Magnet etc etc...Sorry I have no idea of direction..hence my getting lost!!......take ALL safety items now, just as well I was carrying plenty of water when I became totally lost!!!
No my hubby does not detect unfortunately. We often go detecting with a son & his wife..sob I have to watch them bring the nuggets in BUT very happy for them.
Hubby & I are off for a week or two pretty soon.
cheers,
Kath

Hi Findalot, I am very lucky to have a son who does a lot of research for us & we go where he suggests. The most important thing for me is to remain positive & keep a good sense of humour!! I do try to go low & slow & do a section throughly but then the "call of the wild" gets to me & I wander off so think this may be my problem. We take a muzzle for when exercising our little dog & she stays on a leash, don't want her getting a bait & also respect the wild-life,sheep,cattle etc.
This time out, hubby & I are going alone as family going too far for us. Where do you live???
Cheers,
Kath

hi nuggettykath yeah we dont do much research before we go, not very good at the internet alltho we read a little abit about prospecting places.
Have you gone out yet! Hope you are remembering to swing lo and slow and stay in the one area nothing peeves me off when i see others out there who swing so fast over a area and next minute they are miles from that oringinal area no wonder why they get so little gold actually it sounds bit like what you are doing nuggettykath slow down old lady! Just joking.
Good luck on your next trip sounds like you need very bit of it

Hello Nuggetykath-68,
Sounds like you had an enjoyable trip with the added bonus of finding a few little nugs. Keep at it and no doubt you will walk over more.
You maybe interested in going to the "Detecting Chat Area" of this site.
Open "General Chat"
Scroll down to the heading "Last days to win a nugget."
All the best.
Peter

Good luck & safe travels
Peter
