Well all, i started metal detecting back in the 1980's early that was, i think i was around 14 yrs of age. I would venture out on most weekends camping in a small tent with a few work mates of my fathers. I prospected for around 3 or so yrs without any gold finds except for the odd small specie that was cracked out of some lump of quartz that may have looked interesting. During that period the first machine i ever owned was an old Goldseeker 3d 9000, which were Australian made from Adelaide, i latter discovered that the components of this machine including the board were the exact copy of the Whites 5000d. Hmmmm From the early 80's unitl the current day i have swung and owned a few machines, as metioned the Goldseeker being the first, i then purchased a Whites 6000d, a Garrett A2b, a Fisher Goldbug the list goes on. Over the years i have still had the lust for finding gold and at times would venture out with one of the old trusty machines and at time hire them, but with out to much success. I currently own a Garrett 250 Ace and a Sd2200d, the minelab has found me a vast amount of colour over the past few years. I enjoy just being out there in the bush smelling the fresh air and getting away from the city life, a nugget or 3 is just the icing on the cake. So thats a little about me. |
