Hi Garimpo Do you live in Brazil or just visiting ??? Thats a nice collection of gold nuggets you have, and they don't look all that smooth and water worn. Do you think that the source is close by to where thay may have come from ??? The gravel in the first picture looks like alluvial wash gravel with plenty of smooth round rocks and pebbles like and old river bed. cheers dave |

Hi dave......jon......gypsy and all..........bananas are one of the best nutrient foods one can eat.........here there's about a dozen different kinds and their cheap.... good beer here also........only about four brands to choose from and more expensive than bananas........ this country has a lot of minerals.......not being a geo. it's hard to figure out what came from where.........all the gold here is in gravel or quartz rocks......... in the pic was alluvial gravel and I was about 30-40 meter higher than the river 1 km down hill.........the gold with the coin was in red quartz rock.......found it with my GP3000 and a Nugget Finder 14" DD coil.........hardly any sound.... more like a sigh........dug down a couple of inches and got a little better sound.... always good news.........the top of the gold bearing rock was at 12" (inches)... got a small piece and turned to leave then remembered I hadn't check the dirt pile or hole........went over the hole and got a "blast" the largest piece was laying on top of the heap of dirt........I had broken the host rock with my pick without knowing it..........I detected the whole area in two days.....about the size of four football fields.......no more signals but I thought there was a good possibility of more deeper gold so me and the owner decided to hire a tractor to come in .......that took another four days to get him there.........in the meantime didn't see my pards anymore........got suspicious and made a trip back alone and walked in..........yep........someone had dug a hole the size of a pick-up bed and about 1 meter deep and then in the center of that hole was another round hole another half a meter deep where they had found more of the vein.... no more gold left......there was only three of us that knew about the vein and it wasn't me that did the digging............we're no longer partners......... I been living here for the last ten years, moved here from Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA........I'm only 12° South of the equator so I don't have to worry about cold or snow.......a lot of gold and different minerals here........emeralds diamonds......just name it and it's here.......... |
