Hi members.
I have just joined the forum today. I am the moderator and owner of ProspectinginOz forum hence my name douginpoz. I am glad I joined this forum as it is very impressive indeed and looks to have heaps of really good info. It is also quick and easy to join which is a very refreshing change. Well done to those that set up the forum.

On the detecting side I have a 3000 and a gs5b and I will be the first person in OZ to test the Dave Emery Pulse Devil Nemesis of which more details are available on my forum where Dave posts. I am also in a small team here that is building our own designed discriminating , Pi gold detector. Our team built the coil preamp and test coils here for the Nemesis under Dave's directions and have done a lot of the very essential field testing and data collection with the Nemesis coil preamp at Beggary hill and Kingower. As a result of this Dave has been able to duplicate almost exactly the ground conditions at Beggary Hill by mixing soil and iron filings in a small test bed. This is critical to optimizing the GB,discrimination and circuit gain of the Nemesis for Australian conditions. Dave is coming to OZ when the weather cools down and with luck I hope will visit most states. So I am fairly active on the technical side and running my forum but unfortunately less so on the detecting side, but if the new detectors prove their worth then I hope this will change.
Anyway I have rambled on a bit much, thanks for letting me join your forum,
best regards and Merry Christmas to you all,
douginpoz

Thanks Peter,
Love your stuff on the birds. Will keep you informed as to how we are going that is if I have not ended up in the loony bin. The circuit design of our Pi is proving to be extremely challenging and at times we are nearly tearing our hair out in frustration trying to get components that will do the job that we want.At the moment we are spending most of our time buying and testing components or WAITING for others because they are out of stock because a newer component with better ? specifications is coming onto the market in a few weeks or a few months! But we will keep going because the potential rewards are enormous.Aready we have had interest from overseas people in our technology and we may do a joint venture with them but our technology will most definitely stay in Oz.
cheers,
douginpoz
