Hello Saltbush a VERY BIG WELCOME to the forum, we look forward to hearing from you. :D

You are starting off detecting really well by getting the gpx 4000, a great machine indeed! ;)

Have you done any detecting, if so what machine did you use & did you find any nugs?

We look forward to hearing how you go with the detector & wish you well, mind you even though we don't always get the nugs; sometimes, just being in the bush is a wonderful experience for us & it can be soooo relaxing!! :D

Good luck,
Cheers,
Kath

Hi Kath
Thanks for the welcome
Never done any prospecting bar playing around with a pan in the river during summer time.I have wanted to get a detector for years but never got round to it.After much research and wondering what machine to get i decided to lash out the extra bucks to get the gpx ....crossing my fingers it will pay off ...if not like you said its great being out in the bush and while im keeping fit walking around im also keeping the dream alive :D

Welcome Saltbush,
Hope to hear soon about your first gold find, as Kath said, when we're not finding gold we are enjoying our wonderful country.
Don't think I have mentioned on the forum not only do we have the birds visiting and nesting at our camp, during our last trip we had two roos, a boomer and his doe + joey coming into the camp every night for a feed on our left over vegies. Fortunately we bought a huge bag of carrots (seconds) for $3.00 and the roos loved them.

Some of this you can look forward too Saltbush, good luck in your new venture.
Watch out for the "Gold Fever." :D :D :D

Cheers

Peter

Good luck & safe travels
Peter

HI Saltbush

I wish you lots of luck with your searching. I'm a total beginner at this myself and I'm very jealous of your new detector <_< .

I'll be intersted in any of your stories and finds etc.

By the way I checked out those boots you mentioned in your other post - couldn't find the exact model you mentioned but the range looks really comfortable. I'll see if there's a local distributor (I'm in Perth).

Cheers for now.

Paul

I couldnt really afford the gpx but after lots of reading and talking to different people i decided to splash out....credit cards are great ..only problem is i will have to sell my boat to pay it out ...lol
I think you may have me mixed up with someone else in regards to the boots ....i dont recall giving out any advice on boots lately ...although i am due for a new pair

Hi saltbush

oops - looks like I got my boots on the wrong feet :P Sorry about that.

Shame you will have to sell your boat. Here's hoping you find enough nuggets to help you buy another one!

Cheers
Paul
