hi there, as part of my research of all the prospecting sites on the net , of which there are many, i found this and joined..

We have been in OZ for nearly a year , from NZ ... we flew into melb on a very hot day last year from a very mild southland NZ summer.... stayed there for a week and bought a car, that clapped out on us just before our friends place in Queanbeyan... Bought a new car there and a caravan and travelled to the rellys and friends in Sydney for a couple of weeks... then headed off to rellys in Dubbo then all the way accross to perth via broken hill, port augusta, kimba (half way across) ceduna where we had to stop from hitting a flock of galahs and get the gearbox fixed , then off to nullarbor plains (barren place) the onward to perth ... eventually... with a caravan and three kids ... loaded car... not good, so we travelled early and stopped at the heat of the day ... any way we had heard all about the huge need for truck drivers in the mines ... couldn't get a foot in ... so eventually got a grain job and are now in dalwallinu where we heard all about the gold prospecting and wanted to give it a go ....

NOW i have to do all the research while my hubby and son get to do the digging with the flies ...lol

sanria...
any help will be appreciated as i really do hate to read much ....lol...
so please point me in the right direction ...
and so the song goes...lol
thanks

Hi Sanria,
Welcome to the forum & you are most certainly in the right state for gold prospecting.
I hope you will find a wealth of prospecting knowledge here. Since you now reside in Dalwallinu there is a friend of mine that knows quite a bit about prospecting & metal detecting for gold who also lives in Dalwallinu. His name is Ismael Jones & his contact phone number is 9661 2656. Just tell him Ted said to give him a call.
I'm sure he will help you out.

Cheers

Ted

WELCOME Sanria,

So glad Ted has already been able to point you in the right direction by giving you a good contact.
Like Ted suggested, read through the forum for lots of great info & feel free to ask any questions.
Personally I cannot wait to get out gold detecting again! Waiting for the weather to cool otherwise the heat & flies are too much & you do not enjoy the detecting like you do when weather is milder. A fantastic past-time this prospecting & we hope you also find you enjoy it. Sounds like you can take the tough times after your mishaps!!

Cheers,
Kath
