HI MEMBERS, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN USING YOUR TWO-WAY RADIOS FOR PLEASE? OF COURSE THIS DEPENDS ON HOW OFTEN WE USE THEM BUT I AM WONDERING HOW LONG THEY COULD LAST...AS A ROUGH GUIDE!!! WE HAVE BEEN USING, WHILE DETECTING, OUR UNIDEN RADIOS FOR APPROX 5YEARS. THEY ARE STILL FUNCTIONING BUT FELT MAYBE THEY MAY SOON FAIL SO HAVE PURCHASED ANOTHER SET.....HMMM SHOULD HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION BEFORE WE BOUGHT THIS NEW LOT!! :wacko: CHEERS, KATH |

Hi Kath Which ones are you talking about,the radio's in the car or your portable one's,as far as i know they dont wear out,unless there dropped or or something gets broken on it. I've had the same radio in the car for years now and never any problem,even had one in the shed which I recently gave to my brother inlaw for his 4wd and it still works great and that would be at least 10yrs old. I recently bought a portable uhf on ebay from china,5watts with seperate mike to clip onto my harness,and its a little beauty,think it was about $120 delivered. Its got alsorts of frequencies on it including ya 40ch uhf cb. Showed it to John CC and he has ordered one as well. |

Hi Dave Its a Nee 358 under ham radio,they have them listed at buy now $139,but I'm sure John got his a lot cheaper,its programmable,you program your own frequencies,I have put in the 40 uhf channels plus extras, :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: It also scans lots of frequencies. Hope this helps .

Hi Jon, Found the NEE 768 for $149.00AU with free delivery. The external Mike is an extra $18 AU. Maybe you got it cheaper because the Aussie was stronger back then.
