Can anyone give me a year that the old ring pull stubbies (that tore the bit in the middle of the cap) and the aluminium ended, steel sided, ring pull cans were stopped being manufactured?

This would give me a rough date on the only rubbish left on a few locations I have found in the middle of nowhere, and found gold on!!

Also the square nine volt batteries that are discarded give the game away as A2b's, Groundhogs and deepseekers.

An actual year would be nice to go off though.

Thanks

Phil

Hi Flyrock,

Some news on your ring pull stubbies that Gypsy managed to find. Here is a transcript from Fosters:

"Hi Kris,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Foster's.

CUB ceased using ring pull stubbys in 1982 (approx). We believe Coopers continued using them until 1987."

Hope this answers your query.

Cheers

Ted

Thanks for that Ted.

About 25 years ago...That's good, as a lot of technology has changed in detecting since then!

Cheers
