Hi members

Anyone going to Mt Celia Please could you pass on mesage To Jon, Alan, Ben , and any one else That I wont be there as planed as a road train pushed us off the road just the other side of Hyden. Boody Bastard came flying over the hill on a single lane bitchaman wagling his tail all over the road. I was in 2 gear tryed to pull of the side then the trailer with 4x4 byke etc went over as the sides where so steep had no choise other than being hit by the prick at 100+ KLs Luckely the tow hitch cracked so it did not turn the Hilux over. The bloody prick did not even stop. Both Myself and My better half were not hert. Thank Goodness. But hell I have herd many horra storys latly regarding road trains and Caravans and Traylers.

I was looking forward to have a steady couple of weeks wondering around the bush. But I have to get spears and get the wreckage back to Albany. Back in Albany now as getting parts ok there left traylor at Hyden.

All have fun Cheers John

Hi John,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune but I guess the upside to all that is you are both alright.

I just hope they find the the driver and take him or her off the road.

As soon as you mentioned that it took me back to 1972 where we almost came to grief due to a log truck south of Manjimup. We were on our way to Walpole where the road was barely wide enough for two cars let alone a log truck.

Fortunately for us we managed to get off the road with out much damage other than getting booged once we got of the narrow tarred surface. This was during the winter months where anyone going off the edge went down to the gunnels.

Well I hope you get your repairs underway soon and soon back on the the road to Mt Celia.

Cheers,
Trevor.

Glad to hear that you survived unscathed. Road trains would have to be my greatest fear when travelling bush, especially with a caravan in tow. I hope you find the big nuggy to help sooth the pain.

Cheers Dave

Hi John,
that is terrible news on what has happend,
i see alot of vehicles and trailers and vans that have come to grief
from road trains, parked up at the caltex here in Coolgardie,
its sad to see as alot have a long journey ahead of them travelling back east
and they get stuck here because of those silly buggers that take over the roads,
so glad that you are safe and well, and im sure we will all meet up again another time,
my thoughts are with you & all that are camped out at Mt Celia, just wish i was there also :-/
take care
Kris

Thanks Everyone for your kind words. I collected the traylor yesterday Friday. It is realy nice to know there is still realy good people around. One dear old laddy stoped to help us she just could not do anough for us a resedent of Hyden living about 20ks out. She even came looking for us again yesterday while I was changing the axel to make traylor pulerbul again. Also the folk at Landcorp ( Westfarmers ) very kindly let me put the traylor in there yard.

The real good thing is we were not heart. We were only going about 20ks I am positive that if that was a more powerfull vehcal going 80+ they or we would have been killed.

We like going the Hyden to Coolgardi way as it is quite senic and a lot shorter. AND USUAL NO ROADTRAINS.

Started to pull recage apart. What a bloody mess.

Cheers for now John

Congratulations John on your 27grammer!

Well done. Good to hear people are finding the gold. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

It'll be interesting to read the stories about the baker etc out there also.

Hope you are able to get back out after the APLA field day or do you have to wait for another trip now?

Cheers

Hi john cc and members,
sorry to hear about the bad news john we were starting to imagine the worst, im glad to here you and your better half are ok and the locals helped you out. when i found out last night it reminded me of when a farmers small truck went through mum and dads caravan when they were turning into jeramunganup many years ago totally destoying the van. soon word had got out and the local's had come from every where to help them out in their time of need.
Anyway on a brighter note ben and i had a absolute fabulous time out their with the members who were at mt celia and red castle, this is the first time ben has been prospecting and it was a bonus that he came home with some nuggy's which i heard about all the way back to perth when he would check his container. i think we will be hearing more about ben as he has got the fever, he is also going to join the forum too.
i must say it was the best time ive had for a long time, putting names to face's and being back out in the bush. i was lucky enough to come home with 9 small nuggies, 11 grm's in total the smallest being point 3 of a grm. Ben got about 6 nuggies i think and one is in the shape of Australia which made his day.
Both ben and i would like to thank every one in attendance for a great time and the members who organised the trip to celia and jon for taking us all to one of his spots at red castle and not forgetting jon's parrot. :D

Regards
Alan
