Hi all,my wife and i are into our third year of detecting.we have had small finds(wifes first nugget was 7.7g found within 2mins of first try with a detector)with a good teacher.we use a4500 and a modded 2100 and have just bought a17' nf elipt mono.other coils in armoury are 18" nf round mono,14"elipt dd,11" standard ml,8'round mono and 8"elipt mono joey. We go bush as soon as its cool enough and the bulk of the flies are gone and come home when it gets too warm.My backs buggared so i only potter around but Lindy is off like a startled gazelle and only comes back to eat and whatever. Not expecting to get rich but it keeps us off the streets.Hope to meet some of you in the bush, stay well. Hi Peter and Lindy, Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you havent found much so far although to 7 grammer must have been an exciting start for you. This forum will provide you with a wealth of knowlege to help you find plenty of the stuff. Many of the senior members have found ship loads through the years and will help you all they can. All you have to do is ask. Many of the the members are away detecting right now, and I hear they are doing very well. Once they recover we look forward to hearing more about their trip. Good to see you've got Lindy on the job. I use the bad back angle myself. Ladies are much better at looking for gold than us. Super human hearing!... My Mrs knows exactly what I'm getting out the fridge at night - even when I havent touched it yet! Amazing stuff! Anyway, good luck and I hope you both have a very successful year. Cheers Dave |

Hi Peter Best detecting forum around this one! Many years of experience and expertise. Folks are only too willing to answer any queries you have. Just such a great place to 'click' onto when you turn on your computer. Good luck with your detecting. Hope you carry water out for Lindy etc. Women have more patience coz they were made to bring up the children! Also women usually take smaller steps than a bloke and can work at a slower place. Anyway that's my theory. Hope to see you out there sometime. Our programme is very much the same as yours except we have to travel across 'the paddock' from SA. Cheers Lyn |
