G-day Pete, Was up there 2 years ago and was informed by Barrick Gold that they did not allow anyone to prospect on their ELs. From memory I think I receive about 7 warnings to leave and did so after receiving the last three warnings that were offical warnings but not before I had finished what I was there for. The previous year the land belonged to BHP Billiton where I had received permission to detect there but unfortunately Barrick Mining had since take over their leases. But from reading this forum I noticed that someone has informed another member that if they called into Barrick Mining in Kalgoorlie they give permission along with a map of where gold has been found. I find this a bit hard to believe as two years ago I had heard that Barrick Mining had also refused access into Grants Patch. But check with Kris as she may have more up to date information since my last episode with them. Cheers, Trevor. |

Hi Pete I have been to Barrick gold in Kal twice now and they have been really good you need to take your miners right with you and they get you to sign a type of document with your details on it (you get a copy to). They give you a map of the area you wish to work and you keep all this with you as evidence if some one confronts you on-site this doco lasts for 3 months. hope this helps Regards Alan |
