Hi guys. Anyone had or having trouble with the wild dog situation when out bush of late. ? A lot of people are now getting very worried about the wild dog situation when out bush these days and i was wondering if any members had any trouble in the past/present with them. My son was charged by 2 grate dane/pitt bull cross dogs in sth oz a few months ago while kneeling and digging a target in the bush, he said if he had'nt had his headphones off at the time he would have been a gonner. He just heard them comming and jumped up and waved his pick as he shouted at them angrily and fortunately for him they backed off and scarpered into the bush. but he didnt feel safe so he called it a day and packed up. I know some of us carry a firearm for shooting meat when out there but it seems that the wild dog problem is getting quit outta hand now. What is the gov doing to fix the problem and where do we stand if a pack of wild dogs threatens our lifes out there ??....... I for one will be shooting 1st and asking questions later. But dont get me wrong....... the gun toting cowboys of the past are not welcome out there like the days of old.... I think its a case of "THE SQUEEKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL" so if you have had trubs with the WILD DOGS maybe a call or letter to your local MP or MINES DEPT will help... here's to a safe and great gold season to all. pete |

HI PETE, YES WE HEARD & SAW LOTS OF FOOTPRINTS WHILE DETECTING AROUND SANDSTONE AREAS LAST TRIP. THOSE DOG FOOT PRINTS WERE LARGE. DID NOT SEE ANY DOGS BUT THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN TOO FAR AWAY. SO GLAD YOUR SON IS OKAY. CHEERS, KATH |
