Hi all,
Had a report that a camp at Wilson's Patch has been torched, we have one of the two camps in the area and am waiting for the Leonora Police to investigate.
When I rang them this afternoon there had been no report so we are keeping our fingers crossed that all is well at our camp.
15 years and many memories around the camp, we will be devastated if this story is true.
Will post when I get word back from Leonora.

Yes, can remember the days when you left everything unattended at your camp and nothing was touched. You could leave your money on the bar in the pub when you went out to adjust your suspenders and it was there when you got back.
If you got into a punchup it was one on one and if you were the unlucky one to go down the fight was over, no kick to the head or his mate king hitting you from behind........

What has happened in our society?

I'll be back.
Peter

I am very HAPPY to report that John & Val (JayVee) who are currently at Wilson's Patch have sent me photos showing the camp is untouched and the report was a vicious rumour.
Much relieved and somewhat bewildered on where and how these rumours begin.

Hi All

Yes times are changing. As a few of you know that is why I like going to the back of beyond I just cannot be botherd with all the hastle of folks wanting to pinch all ones gear. It all started to creep in about 14 years ago and seems to have got worse ever since. I has a bird barth pinched from our Private bush block a month or so back. Roo shooters I got it back but now are block is padlocked.

Yes times have changed In the 70s you visited a station they invited you in for a feed Etc Now ( "What do you want" ) usualy torists and prospectors that want fuel or some repairs done. !! I dont call in at stations any more. I cannot blam the cockys as I think I would be the same with torists driving all over the place leaving holes and rubbish and gates open and now pinching all sorts of stuff. and in some cases even there stock :( I can see its not far off and we will not be allowed to go on pastral leases at all.

Cheers johncc

That is a relief - I was in the area just a couple of weeks ago.

I would never have imagined things like this happened.
