Yes Ted

I know Pete has had many sleepless night over this and pete yes there is a big chance that the details of the find are ass about .

I do have a few book and note's of his and watch anything that come up about it but like you do you have to get out there if you want to get closure to the find so I have a idear we get out there and we get the olders camel we can find now you ask why would you want a old camel ?

well we can't torture the dead and we know the only other one's that were there were camels so we get the camel and we torture him to tell us were the location was as they would know after all these year the camels would of been telling there side of the story to the mate's for years as they walk around the outback so we can't give him the water torture as he has lots of his own so we slap him about and yes he will spit on us so I get a Menu from Footsray from a chince restaurant and show him whats on the menu (Camel stew) and make him take us there to the find.

What do you think good Idear or what this will mean I get a bigger cut like 70% is that ok.

PS: By the way it been a couple of hot days here and you can only drink so much till all the #@%$&*#$%@ come out.

David

:D :D :D Old camels, I like David.
We'll bring Abdul along with us and he can threaten to "brick 'em" if they don't lead on?
70% of sweet FA sounds pretty reasonable. ^o)

Jokes aside it has crossed my mind why at the time Blakey etc didn't back track from where Lasseter lost his camels and the fact no one ever found the camel packs that they threw off before they finally walked back to their holding yards? Wouldn't you think they would have wanted to see if there was any evidence in his (Lasseters) belongings?

Anyway I'll sleep on how to torture an old camel. ;)

HI all
This is my first post on this forum so be patient

I am busy working on a Lasseter display for a PMAV day at Bummumwaal here in Vic next March and as part of the display there will be available a Secret Map showing where Lasseters Reef is. It is still very much a work in progress but it will get done eventually. It will of course be completely accurate and show exactly where to look for the fictional reef. Some of the artwork for the map has already been prepared but as it is in A3 format I can't scan it at present. I may even produce several versions of the map so as to cover all possible locations. But like I said it is still very much a work in progress.

I have collected most of the books and several other interesting items relating to the Lasseter story but if anyone has any ideas for the display I would be very interested to hear from them.

Cheers

Looking forward to see this 'Secret Map' as I'm sure Peter is as he has done a lot of research himself

Gday Nightjar,

Can remember many years ago that an old fellow that lived in Bourke street here in Kal by the name of Dobrey was taken by Western Mining on flights looking for Lassetters reef dont know what he had to do with Lassetter but from what was indicated to me he seemed to have some knowledge of it and was an old prospector an miner.

Regards,

John.

Hi All Members

Are any of you really keen to go and have a look or just dreaming and dreamers. Covering that sort of ground is not for the torists its serious but fun. No caravans and no radial tyres . Just good old bush bashing rig and lots of time and gooni ! ( Red Wine ) interesting any comments

Cheers Johnc
