Hi Members

Since I've put an order in for a GPX4500 I've been hearing of their batteries failing from as little as 6 months use
after purchase.

Has any member here experienced this problem & if so how did you go about replacement due to the 6 month warranty?

Cheers

Ted

Hi Ted,regarding your battery query, my partner and i bought our 4500s in early august 2008 and detected pretty solid for another two months.at the end of the season we put our batterys away charged up and gave them a boost every month or so.this season we detected nearly every day from May till end of Sept with detectors being on about 6-7 hrs each day. at night we put them on charge and within a few hours they are fully charged up again. we have had no problems with them and we run our detectors flat out most times. i suppose there will be bad ones around but i guess its the luck of the draw.also speaking to many other detectorists i dont think i have heard of any that had battery failures.i dont know if that helps but thats our experience of them.
All the best,
Peter

Hi Peter,

It is true to say that there have only been a few cases of battery failure & this could have been caused
by a bad batch getting through the system.
I believe Minelab are looking into the problem.
