Well i have a chance soonish, to try out a camper trailer for a 4 day break. Is it worth my while in trying to swing the arm around Bullfinch? Has it been worked over to the max being so close to Perth...am i better off packing the rods and heading south to try out camper. Anyone here had any joy up near bullfinch, southern cross? I 'm looking to hire a detector from Reeds in Midland...between to 2 which would suit a novice and so i'm confident it is working...GP 3500 or the GPX 4000. I"m also trying to research thru the DMP dept. for tenement alive and dead around the area..wow i'm finding thats hard in itself. I have tried online tengraph but isn't loading, tried geoview that loads but take ages for it to do anything. Have downloaded goggle earth..still trying to work out to do there ..can you load tailings and mine marking to that? Well I thought maybe just ask here...is this the only way to get info of mine activity and tailings marked on a map other than talking to local prospectors? Help i can't sleep at night... |

Hi Sleepr, I would assume you have a Miner's Right & hopefully have applied to join APLA (See more details about APLA in another section of this forum). The mining leases around Bullfinch are all live tenements & unless you know someone in the district to help you with permission to detect there I very much doubt you will have any success. The weather is also a factor as the temperatures are still in the 40's during the day & don't look like dropping for awhile yet & it can get very hot in the bush where dehydration is a big factor to watch out for. Have you applied to log into Tengraph as from my end there is no problem with logging on? Check some of the posts in the Research Section of the forum for assistance on Tengraph. Since you are new to detecting I would suggest you do a lot of research before heading anywhere to look for gold as this is the main part in the success of finding it. You will find a lot of information on this forum to help you. You may be better off with hiring a 2100 as this is not as complicated to use for a novice. Others on this forum may have different views on which model to start out with so I'll leave that one for them to comment on. |
