Gidday

I dont Know who Detrackozi is but I love his posts ,anyway he wanted to wake this site up and seeing that was 6 months ago I thought .

Yup, Good Point.. So I spat the piece of wheat stalk out of my mouth and thought about it for 6 months and then....INSPIRATION!

I'll talk about Gem and mineral areas.

Trouble is, just like Jon who knows nothing about gems just heavy stuff (the bread he makes) I too am a bit limited. So I'll tell you one thing and post a picture of one thing -

This is one thing I'll tell you about....

I met a bloke when I was Prospecting last year at Marble Bar - All he does is go around and collect rocks, yep ., rocks ..not gold (or heavy bread) just rocks ! But he getss permission to collect it by the 10 ton load - why not ,a rock is worth a dollar, a ton of the same rock is worth $2000 or more depends on the type of rock - yep a 10 tonne load is worth $20000 - excellent maths.!!

What sort of rocks. Well, the sorts of rocks you will see in the attached picture, the sort of rocks you often find in conjunction with gold areas. e.g. jasper, cherts and so on.

And - they are beautiful rocks my friend Udo cuts and polishes them and sells them locally at Cue (bloody cheap too) and the attached picture shows what they look like.

So - even though we love searching for gold because its the hysterically, historically and emotionally wonderful thing to do - there is a lot of not only gem quality rocks to go for but also just basic rocks that can profit - if your interested.

Hi Bill.

Up very early this morning (or is it very late) :$ :$

Taking about gemstones, an acquaintance of mine runs a gemstone business in a very big way.
When I say big I mean BIG!!!!!!!
He sends uncut & unpolished rocks to the states by the truckload & sells it off at auctions over there.
Have a look at his website found here:

Outback Mining

Cheers
