Hi all this is the gold I have found since November 2009 when I first got my 4500. I have been using a 11"mono and just going over old areas where I have found gold before.

Last time out was on Thursday. Tryed working the virgin had no luck went back to an area that I worked with the 3000 and then again when I first got the 4500. Went nice and slow and picked up 6 bits all small. I am amazed on how sensitive the 4500 is. I had the gain on about 12 and the stabilizer at about 10. The threshold was a little eratic but all the targets really stood out. 1 small bit was in calcete down about 4-5" hard to tell. I need to put mearurements on pick handle so the depths can be measured properly. I'm on call for the next 2 weeks and when i come of call will go back and chain the sh*t out of it. Let you know how I go. Ps the ground is on a pending E.

Too Good

Wish you the best of luck. Has your Detecting Buddy mastered the machine now or are you out there on your own?

Hopefully this works - here's a picture of some of our nuggies from our trip last year:-

Cheers
Lyn

Lynn the prospecting buddy is still trying to master the 3000 says it sounds differt to the 2200. I told him have faith the 3000 is a good machine.

In regards to going alone. I still do this quite often. Sometimes I,m a persistent sh*t. If we find a single nugget somewere away from any workings I keep going back until either I find more or finally accept the fact that the piece was a loner.
Last year were working some pending ground in Bulong and I picked up a tiny bit, we spent about 1/2 a shift wandering around when my partner in crime declared there was no more. I went back about a week later by my self and found about 3oz all up in a small area we both had not walked over.
Just goes to show if you work an area you need to chain all of it to be sure. The nuggets found were like a jigsaw puzze and you can slot them together to make one nugget. The amazing think is that they were about 20m from the old bulong road and thousands of people must have beeped there. 1 peice was about 1/2 oz and only 10mm below ground level when it went of I scratched the ground with my boot expecting to see a bullybeef lid but saw nothing, I pushed it around for about a minute or so below bending down to try and locate it the first hand full of dirt told me it was gold by the weight.

Morning Chris/Lynn,
No doubt you are happy with your 2009 tally, nice little haul there. :D

Captain,
It is always exciting when you feel the weight when to tip some of your spoonful of dirt into your hand.

Sure looking forward to getting out there this year.

Cheers
Peter
Good luck & safe travels
