Hi all, Just wondered if this is a regular issue & if there is a fix for it. I have a 24x12 NF mono which is my favorite coil but has become very touch sensitive of late even with grass & sticks etc touching the coil while swinging. I really dont want to stop using this coil as its been really good to me but this problem is making it really hard to use it effectively ,even if I am really careful about not letting it hit anything. Anyone had similar problems & found a fix ??? Mark |

Hi Mark If you use a skid plate and haven't taken that off to clean the sand etc away that could be the problem. Also if the coil is not very old there could be a problem with it and I am pretty sure that Nugget Finder would replace it under warranty. Another thing could be that the plug into the control box may not be fitting securely. Just throwing a few suggestions around. Have you tried the coil on someone else's machine? Hope you get to the bottom of it. Cheers Lyn |

Hi Lyn, Thanks for the reply, I dont run the skid plate as it is a pain with rubbish getting into it, I have also had it run on another detector with same results the plug does give a false signal if you physically wiggle it however all coils seem to do this to some extent so maybe I will contact NF to find if they can fix it as it is only 15 months old so should'nt have these issues yet I would have thought. Thanks for your input... Mark |

Hi Mark, When you wiggle your coil it should not make any sound. Suggest if it does it is a loose contact somewhere. Check the pins as they may simply be tooo loose in the socket. We just expand pins just a wee bit to fit tighter in the socket & make better contact. Have had this problem ourselves & so far this has been our answer each time so hope it helps you. Also with our skid plates we firmly tape with insulation tape to keep inside free of dirt etc.. We always do this! Cheers, Kath |
