Hi Folks

Just been catching up on all the postings here. Been a bit slack really. We've been in the park here for a week and have booked to stay another week. Thanks for your advice Kath!! Lovely park here - folks are nice and we have been going out and picking up fly pooh each day. If there's a bigger one out there with our name on it I reckon we have a fair chance.

On our way up to Peak Hill we stayed a night in the Carvan Park at Meekatharra. Woke to a tyre going flat on the bottom on the van. Chris changed that and when I spoke to the owner on departure that we were going to be out bush for around 3 weeks up north, I asked if we could come in and pay for showers and do the laundry. Was greeted with a flat "no". Not fair to the residents of the park!! If you want to use the facilities you have to pay the $25 fee per night.

The dirt road into Peak Hill was shocking (needed steel boob holders on!). The temperatures were really quite warm and humid. The mongrel flies were out before dawn and still around after dark. Unforgiving ground for us oldies who have bone diseases. However we did manage to get 17 plus grams for 5 days detecting. Had 3 or 4 days of drizzly rain as well. No available water supplies out there either. Crawled out the road in 2nd gear because of the corrugation and crossed that area off my list of wanna go to in the future.

Just lapping up the comforts here in the caravan park. We've got about 8 and a half grams for the 3 or 4 days that we have been out detecting and most days we are not out there until nearly lunchtime. Have booked a couple of freshly baked loaves of bread to be picked up tomorrow. The store here bakes fresh bread 6 days a week.

So our tally has crept up to around 46grams now. We're happy with that and will stay around here at Cue while we are still picking up little nuggies.

Really enjoyed our meet with Ted on our way up - at least we have met one so far!! Hope to catch up with a few more down the track.

Loved seeing all those beautiful nuggies found. Good on you all. Well done.

The first pic is the gold we got while staying in Kalgoorlie (just out on day trips)
The second is the gold we got at Peak Hill

Cheers

P.S Roxy has been such a good girl. She is getting used to the muzzle although still tries to rip it off by bashing it on the legs every now and then - really hurts.

Lyn Chris, great to hear you are enjoying the WA hospitality and finding enough nugs to keep you interested. I suppose the manager of the park told you he and his wife bought a 1/4 acre block in Cue which turned out to be a bonus 1/2 acre when the deal was finalised......
At least Chris only has to repair the bottom of your van tyre sure saves air when pumping it up.. :D :D :D :D :D :D
Good luck with the rest of your trip if you get to Sandstone on your travels say hello to Paul & Bev (QLD) they were staying on a few weeks when we last heard from them.

Cheers
Peter Carol & Tyson
Good luck & safe travels
Peter
