Gold in and around Perth can still be found if you perservere.

To prove a point I have included a pic of (2) nugget that I found a 11 years ago when I was stationed at Avon Valley.

There have been lots of stories regarding gold being found in and around the Darling Ranges and I was asked by a person that brought a block in and around Helena Valley, what would be the best thing to doif he found gold on his property but the main part of the reef is on his neighbours property? I won't divulge the information I gave him just in case he hasn't acted upon it.

The pic below is of (2) Nuggets that I beeped at Browns Reward aproximately 70 clicks north of Perth and I was fortunate that I knew the owner who had recently purchased the property that had Browns Reward on it.

Also below Browns Reward there is a creek that flows into the Avon River called Jimperding Brook that I have also panned gold from this just befor it enters the AVon River.

In the adjacent area a Greenstone belt ocurrs locally that also may have further sources of gold and associated nuggets yet to be found.

Cheers,
Trevor.

There's no secrets anymore.

Here is a link to the GPS points for Toodyay at our site and how you can find them for all old gold mines in WA.

http://www.gold-prospecting-wa.com/goldmine-finder.html#toodyaygoldmines

I used the tool to quickly look up the Toodyay old gold mines and post it on the site

We have developed database software that makes it easier to locate and research old gold mines GPS localities than database tools like Minedex. You can use Tengraph and Minedex to find this data but its a little more difficult to do it that way.

They are beautiful nuggets by the way.

Regards
Bill

G,day Waz,

These and many others were located in and around the dry blowing heaps approximately 400 mts north of the mine Browns Reward, but be aware that this is located on now private property and the owners permission would need to be gained.

Nearby there is greenstone area that would be worth while checking out seek and you shall find.

There is some information in the volumes of Gold and Ghosts of gold being found in and around the Darling Ranges as to there being nuggets is unknown, possible check of old mining and newspaper reports could help narrow down the area to search.

Blackboy Hill is another area I intended to try but never did, also there was some dry blowing I believe north of Toodyay in and around Wongamine Nature Reserve.

Between Toodyay and York there is another area I was going to check out also but have misplaced my notes on this particular area.

I hope this has been of some help.

Cheers,
Trevor
